1.0 The revised BERECH Scheme was notified vide circular referred above. As per the
revised scheme, members can purchase medicines from an authorized agency to the
extent of Rs 40,000 per annum in case of family i.e. retiree and spouse (Rs 30,000 in
case of single member) by paying 10o/o of the cost of medicines.

2.0 During the period from 01 .04.2022 to 30.09.2022, out of the total amount of Rs 40,000
(in case of family i.e. retiree and spouse) / Rs 30,000 (in case of single member) per
annum, Members were eligible to purchase medicines to the extent of Rs 20,000 (in
case of family i.e. retiree and spouse) and to the extent of Rs 15,000 (in case of single
member) by paying 10% of the cost of medicines (after allowing 18% discount on
MRP) from Apollo Pharmacy outlets.

3.0 Considering that the process of identifying an authorized agency for supply of
medicines to BERECHS members is in progress, it has been decided to extend the
current arrangement (i.e. Purchase of medicines from Apollo Pharmacy outlets) for the
period from 01 .10.2022 to 31 .12.2022. During this period, members will be eligible to
purchase medicines to the extent of Rs 10,000 in case of family (i.e. retiree and
spouse) and to the extent of Rs 7,500 (in case of single member) out of the total
annual limit of Rs 40,000 (in case of family i.e. retiree and spouse) / Rs 30,000 (in
case of single member).

4.0 lf any amount is unutilized out of Rs 20,000 (in case of family i.e. retiree and spouse) /
Rs 15,000 (in case of single member) during the initial period i.e. from 01.04.20221o
30.09.2022, the same will be carried fonryard and added to the eligible amount (as
mentioned in para 3.0 above) that the retiree can utilize for the period from 01 .10.2022
to 31.12.2022.

5.0 All Units / Offices may note the above and widely disseminate the same to the Retiree
Association / Members of the scheme.
