it’s up against a re-energized
“Desperate Housewives,” which poses

■ Recap: Chris was graduating from junior high and looking forward
to high school when he got the bad news that his best friend, Greg,
would be going to a different school, the Bronx Academy of Science.
He took and passed its entrance exam, but there was no money avail-
able to send him to the school. He and Greg consoled themselves with
the fact that they could still hang out after school. Julius invested in a
mix-tape business his brother Ryan started, but Ryan was arrested
because the music he was selling was copyrighted. Tonya was
crushed when her ballet partner hurt his ankle before the big recital,
so Rochelle found her a new partner: Drew.

■ Recap: Jason asked Kelly to dress provocatively and flirt with the team’s
new general manager in hopes of getting him a better contract. She became
disgusted and walked out. He begged her to reconsider; she refused. Melanie
and Jerome were enjoying a romantic weekend at the hotel where the team’s
party was taking place. Derwin showed up and told Melanie he still loved her
and she said she was happy with Jerome, who punched Derwin. Later, Janay
told Derwin she was pregnant. Malik married Robin Givens after telling her it
could be a simple publicity stunt. Tasha and Rick Fox had sex, and she consid-
ered giving up her career for him, but she suspected something wasn’t right.
Melanie went to Derwin’s apartment and waited for him to answer the door.
