1st Teaching hour

In the 1 hour students will explore their National Statistic Site (INE https://ine.es/ ) to find
st

reliable information about their country. In the first part of the activity, they will work
individually or in small groups, depending on how many PC the school have at disposal for
the activity. They will surf the national statistic site in order to find out:

a) The total population, male/female population, foreigners/citizens population;


b) The subdivision into age groups;
c) The average life expectancy, male/female average life expectancy.

In the second part of the activity, you will work in small groups and will create a
conceptual/mind map to summarise the information collected. Possible software can be
Mindomo (http://www.mindomo.com ), Cmap (https://cmap.ihmc.us/ ) or
http://mindmeister.com
2nd Teaching hour

In the 2nd hour, students will explore the HDR.UNDP site to find out information about inequality in
different countries. They will learn to compare equity in different countries and inside their own
country using two indices: Gini coefficient and GNI (Gross National Income).
