INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE

The structuring of indigenous knowledge, the classification of life events, and the formation

of attitudes and thought patterns all rest on the relationship between people and the environment.

The understandings, aptitudes, and ideologies cultivated by communities with a long history of

interacting with their natural environment are referred to as local and indigenous knowledge. For

rural and indigenous peoples, such as this person in the picture, local knowledge guides

decision-making on core elements of daily life.
