Write about the most relevant invention for you. In this activity you have to write about the
advantages and disadvantages about the invention that you choose by describing all the the
details in this activitiy. You must write at least 100 words for doing this activity by adding
pictures.

The wheel is a circular and mechanical element that rotates around an axis.1 It can be
considered a simple machine, and is part of the set called machine elements.

It is one of the fundamental inventions in the history of humanity, due to its great utility in
making pottery, and also in land transportation, as a fundamental component of machines.
The knowledge of its origin is lost in time, since no one knows who invented it1 and its many
uses have been essential in the development of human progress: such as the first horse-
powered races after steam engines.

In its primitive form, a wheel is a circular block of a hard and durable material in the center of
which a hole has been drilled through which is placed an axle bearing on which the wheel
rotates when a torque is applied to the wheel.
