    Chess game mechanics

    1. The chess tournament will follow a 10-team single elimination rule in two (2) tables/brackets.

    2. Draw lots will happen at the time of the tournament and the drawn number corresponds to the
    numbers in the diagram.

    4. Each game is given 60 minutes and an interval of 30 minutes right after each game/table. If the
    player will not arrive/participate 10 minutes after the last and final call then the player is forfeited.

    5. Penalties

    5.1 Major Offenses i.e wrong movement of the piece, exposing the king to an attack; capturing
    the opponent’s king, and non-replacement of the piece after pawn promotion, shall be penalized by
    immediate loss of the game.
    5.2 Minor Offenses such as using two hands in making a move; displacement of piece/s on the
    chessboard; use of force in pressing the chess clock, etc. shall be penalized by oral warning on the
    1st offense and loss of the game on the 2nd offense.

    6. In case of a draw a toss coin will be administered by the tournament director.
