INTRODUCTION.
The policies of a company are guidelines or criteria that are taken into account to
achieve its objectives and fulfill its objectives. They serve to govern the action in
walking towards a goal, helping to delegate and maintain a good relationship
between people, this helps us to achieve and contribute to our goals. These policies
have specific and particular characteristics depending on each organization.

Company policies are statements of general principles that an organization agrees


to respect and enforce. In this type of document, the rules and guidelines that govern
the operation of the company are specified, establishing what is the best way to
behave for the workers, how they will relate appropriately with potential clients and
how the rest of the documents will be prepared.

To facilitate the disclosure and understanding of the company's workers, it is


recommended that this type of document does not have more than two pages and
that the points addressed are written as clearly as possible.
Once the policy has been developed, it must be documented and included in the
manuals where the management of the organization is specified. What is written in
it must be respected, implemented and serve as a reference of good behavior and
work environment within the organization.

1. GENERAL POLICIES

They reach the entire organization and mark its general lines. Check that all
departments are aware of these policies, as they serve as a guide for the behavior
of all company personnel.
The general policies of a company are the guidelines that define the path to be
followed by the organization and serve as a guide to direct our business activity.
These policies are a set of rules that dictate how the company should act in the most
general aspects of the company with the aim of achieving the ideal functioning of the
company.

2. DEPARTMENTAL POLICIES

They are the rules by which each specific department is governed. Within this type
of policy, the most common are those that specify the quality objectives to be
achieved by a branch of the organization, environmental policies, occupational risk
prevention,
Some examples of company policies can be

 Provide solutions to the needs of the community that surrounds the company
as part of its final results.
 Demonstrate zero tolerance for corruption, especially among your senior and

3. SPECIFIC POLICIES.

It is important for companies to define the policies that will guide their activity. When
talking about business policies, reference is made to a set of guidelines or structured
principles, at different levels, that guide the decision-making and action of a
company. In addition, they depend on the nature, philosophy and objectives of the
enterprise.
Policies must be distinguished from norms or rules that apply specifically to certain
cases. Policies are a series of guidelines to which the rules, procedures and
business strategies respond and as the framework within which the company's
activities must be carried out.
They are those policies that are set to meet momentary needs or temporary activities
that the company can carry out at a given time.

4. QUALITY MANAGEMENT

Quality policy: the general guidelines and objectives of an organization with respect
to quality, formally expressed by senior management. The quality policy is an
element of corporate policy and is approved by senior management.
Quality System: The organizational structure, procedures, processes, and
resources needed to implement quality management.
Quality Manual: A document that states the quality policy (and that describes the
quality system of an organization. * The Quality Manual can refer to the totality of
the activities of an organization or only to a part of them.
* The Quality Manual will normally contain the following aspects, or at least refer to
them:
a) Quality Policy
b) The responsibilities, authority, and interrelationships of personnel who direct,
perform, verify, or review work that affects quality.
c) The quality system, procedures and work instructions.
d) Provisions to revise, update and control the manual.

Policies should be indicated in the company that are aimed at meeting the
requirements and commitments set by the company. They should also indicate how
the organization intends to improve quality in the short and long term, and what
system it has that is focused on it. This policy must be reviewed periodically.

5. ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT.

Companies are required to comply with current environmental regulations, and


promote behaviors such as recycling, pollution reduction, the use of public transport.

It is recommended that the company have some protocol to be able to deal with an
incident in which the environment has been damaged, although the ideal is to have
procedures that guarantee respect for nature.
Environmental policy is the concern and development of objectives for the purpose
of improving the environment, conserving the natural principles of human life and
promoting sustainable deve lopment. Both in the public and private spheres,
environmental awareness is growing.

ANALYSIS

When talking about the policies of a company, or also its organizational policy, reference is
made to a structured and deliberate system of principles that guide the company's decision-
making and that aspire to achieve rational results.
In other words, it is a statement of principles, which is implemented as a protocol or
procedure by the organization's board of directors, as well as by executive officers. Any
decision, objective or subjective, will necessarily go through what is dictated in business
policies.

The concept of a company's policies can be as broad as it needs. They can include different
basic rules and regulations, which govern the behavior of the organization and its parts, as
well as the procedures to follow in the various possible cases, or even the specific actions
that define the "spirit" of the company.

These business policies can be of two types:


• General. They apply to all levels of the company without distinction, since they are critical,
high-impact policies that have to do with crucial issues such as the budget, compensation
policies, comprehensive security.

• Specific. Instead, they apply to certain processes, delimited according to their scope, or
registered in certain sectors of the organization, such as sales policies, payment policies,

4. CONCLUSION

These refer to the regulations that must be complied with and the systems of
structured principles, which help in the company's decision-making for the
achievement of rational results. They are guidelines that both the hierarchy and the
employees must follow in conjunction with the values and philosophy of the
organization.

These guidelines are procedures or protocols implemented by the company's board


of directors and executive officers, therefore, decisions are judged by company
policies, which include rules that govern the company and its procedures.
