So today I am going to be your teacher is Arts
I am Ms. Jhezmae rose P. Alonzo.

So let’s begin

Let’s recall first the topic that we discussed

last meeting.
Last meeting, we discussed about the visual
texture.

Who can give me what visual texture is all Visual texture refers to the visual quality
about? of a surface.

Very good!

Can you give me an examples that used -Drawings

visual texture to portray their subject? -Paintings
-Photography

Very good!

B. Establishing a purpose for the

lesson.
Before we proceed to our new lesson.

Let us have a guessing game. Are you Yes Ma’am!

familiar with that?

Okay good! So all you need to do is to guess

the items or pictures I am going to present
you. Let us guess what does each picture
represent or what is all about by arranging the Yes Ma’am.
scrambled letters. Would it be alright to you?

(teacher will show pictures of land formation (pupils will guess)

and landscapes found in their locality or
region)

It’s enjoying Ma’am.

How did you find the activity class?

Great!
All pictures that you had shown is about
From that activity class what did you the formations seen in the Philippines.

The theme tells about the environment.

Very good! What else? What is the theme?

Very good.

C. Presenting examples/instances of
the new lesson

Now, I am to introduce to you some pictures

and I am going to ask you something.
(answers may vary)

(answers may vary)

From these pictures, what objects in the
picture appear nearest to the viewer?
(answers may vary)

What objects in the picture appear farthest to

the viewer?
One appears to be near, the other one seen
to be as far and the other one is at the
center.
What object is not so near but not far?

Compare their sizes.

Ma’am I think it has something to do with
landscape drawing.

Very well said!

Based from that activity what would be our

lesson today?

Good point class.

D. Discussing new concept and

practicing new skills #1 and #2
Now let us proceed.

In landscape drawing, one way to show space

and balance is to overlap parts of an artwork.
But how?

Artist shows space and balance in their

drawing through the things called, Meaning to say Ma’am, it is something
foreground, middle ground and background. that is in the center of the artwork.

When we say foreground, it is the item

usually in front of an artwork.
The thing nearest to the viewer.

Next is the middle ground. What is meant to

be middle ground?

Ma’am, it is the item appears at the back

of the artwork.
Very well said my dear.

The Middle ground shows items that are in

the middle of an artwork. In the center.

And lastly the background. Any idea about

this?
Yes Ma’am!

Absolutely! When we say background, it

shows the item that are in the back of an
artwork.
Yes Ma’am!
Did we get the point class?

That’s great!
Now let us have a trial. Tell me where is the
foreground, middle ground and the
background by telling me only the shape that
fall into my questions. Is that clear?

Now let us begin.

Ma’am, star!

Square!

From this picture, where is the background?

Middle ground Ma’am!

Good. How about the foreground?

Ma’am the foreground is the square,

Very good and the triangle is what we called
middle ground is the triangle and the star
what?
is the background!

Very good!

Next picture. Pia will you identify which is

the foreground, middle ground and the
background.

Yes Ma’am!

Let us clap for Pia.

Good job children!

Is it already clear to you young people? Yes Ma’am!

If it is so, let us have an activity. Each of you
will have a copy of picture and from that (working)
picture I will give, identify the foreground,
middle ground and the background.

Afterwards I will call some of you to present

his/her work.

Would that be okay?

Okay. Kindly work quietly. You are just (Mark will present her output)
given five minutes to do your work.

Time is up! (Kyle will present her output)

Stop working. Pass your paper and let us
now proceed to presentation.

E. Developing mastery (leads to

Formative Assessment #3.) (Cristope will present her output)
(After doing the activity)
I am now giving the floor to Mark to present
her output.

Yes ma’am!
This time, Kyle, it’s your time to shine and
present your output.

And how about Cristope. Kindly present your

output. We study these things for us to come up
with balance in our artwork.

Very Good class!

Did you get now the point class?

F. Finding practical application of

concepts and skills in daily living. Ma’am there should be foreground, middle
Furthermore, why do we need to study this ground and the background.
thing? What is the significance of it?
Great!
Background Ma’am!
G. Making generalization and
abstractions about the lesson.
At this moment, let’s do some recap.

What are the three placement in doing your Foreground Ma’am!

landscape drawing?

It’s the middle ground Ma’am.

Good!

What do we call the item farthest to the

viewer?

Okay good! How about the item nearest to

the viewer?

Very Good! How about the item in the center,

what do we call it?

You are excellent children!

You really did a great job!

Give yourselves a big clap.

H. Evaluating Learning
Direction: Think of a scene or landscape in
your province or region that you want to
draw. Decide what objects are to be included
in the drawing. Draw a landscape showing
the foreground, middle ground and
background. Position the objects in the
landscape to show balance. Color the drawing
and write a title for it, discuss briefly why
you have chosen that landscape. Present your
output to your classmates.

And after presenting class, you have to

answer this one. The rubrics.

So this serve as the rubrics. So you will be

the one who will evaluate or grade your
output.

Draw a happy face (😊) if your answer is

Yes and sad face (☹️) if No.

RUBRIC

1. Did I draw the

foreground, middle
ground and background
in the drawing to show
balance?
2. Did I draw the landscape
or land formations found
in the region?
3. Did I take pride in my
landscape drawing by
showing it to others?
4. Did I finish my artwork
on time?

V. ASSIGNMENT
