Intervention through analyzing the given case.
SOCIAL CASE STUDY REPORT
I. Presenting problem
The clients E and D are a product of a broken family, their biological mother and father
were mostly quarreling, and that Malou has short tempered attitude and most of the
time their father was being beaten and slapped by her every time they had
misunderstandings which leads them to separate each other. He respected, the
decision Malou to bring along with her the children, but as the time Juan learned that
their children were beaten, he went for them and bring them with him at General Trias,
Cavite, where he leaves his children with their yaya when he is working. As the moment
the biological father let his two friends stay in the house where they live, there begin the
incident that changes their lives. The children client D and E witnesses the detaining
and molesting of their father’s friend to a 13-year-old girl and are apprehended along
with their father who are charged by the victim’s family for child trafficking under RA
7610. Because of that event, the barangay officials of the General Trias, Cavite sought
the help of MSWD, and clients E and D are referred to Municipal Social Welfare and
Development Training Center for temporary shelter which until now, the clients are still
under to their custody. Unlike client D who is a smiley person, client E has an attitude
issue, he is always frowning, has tantrums, doesn’t eat vegetables, short-tempered,
hardheaded and what he always wants should be granted. He hardly follows the
instructions and policies at the center, but when it comes to her sister, they really have a
very good relationship, and is doing his responsibility as the older brother. Other than
that, there is no other concern about the client E, and the whereabouts of their abusive
mother Malou is unknown to their father.

II. Assessment
Growing up being spoiled too much by his father Mang Juan, client E’s development
is also influence due to this treatment, his father was so fond to have him as a first child
at his 40’s. It can be said, that due to that treatment the boy become a spoiled and want
to have the things he wished. Just like Sigmund Freud’s theory about the Id, ego, and
superego of human personality, it is said that the Id strives for immediate gratification of
all desires, wants, and needs. If these needs are not satisfied immediately, the result is
a state anxiety or tension, However, immediately fulfilling these needs or if an infant
were ruled entirely by the pleasure principle, they might develop a behavior that is
disruptive and socially unacceptable just like what client E’s behavior.
It can be observed that the client E has inherited the short-tempered attitude of his
biological mother Malou, the HP- in charge said that he is fond of playing but when
being lost, he is “pikon” and argued to someone older than him. This can be linked to
nature theory which its perspective that a child’s personality traits and behavioral
tendencies are the sole result of heredity or all the genes and hereditary factors
influences who we are not just physically but also in our personal behavior. Hence, it
can also say that the lack of proper parenting does not give to the client’s young
consciousness about his behavior or actions are right or wrong.
Client E’s tantrums is not just limited to his behavior about being hardheaded, or
short tempered, but also due to the experiences they faced along with his sister client D
from their mother’s beating. Tantrums are more likely to occur in younger children or
other who cannot express their needs or control their emotions when they are frustrated
about something it can be an event, or just his behavior when the things he wanted is
not granted or he is pushed to eat or do what he doesn’t like.
Also, the absence of a father figure when they were beaten by their mother,
made the client to act as a protector to his younger sister whenever she was taken
advantage. In relation to that, the horrible experienced they witnessed at their home
where they saw how the friends of his father molested a 13-year-old child, made him
realized that as brother he needs to protect his younger sister. He even knew the
reason why his father is detained, that is why for a six-year-old he has a great
observation about what is happening around.
Overall, it can be observed that the social functioning of the client’s especially
client E is not fully affected, he can still perform tasks that are assigned to him or learn
new things that he must do at his age. Such tasks like writing his name, he even knows

how to sing the alphabet, spiritually, he is still observing how other children are praying
and just go along with them during devotional prayers and help in doing some
household chores like keeping their bedroom nice, arranged, and clean.
Presently, Client E is very happy in the center. Most of the time he expressed
that he wants to stay longer in the center because of the food and the toys he enjoys.
