A 21-year-old man was injured after he answered his door early Saturday morning, thinking it was his friends, and was struck with a blunt object allowing two men to rummage through his Ashburn home. The incident occurred about 4:15 a.m. on Hiddengrove Court in Ashburn, according to the Loudoun County Sheriffs Office. Loudoun County Sheriffs spokesman Kraig Troxell said that this was a confirmed robbery and the suspects rummaged through the home - it is still to be determined how much was taken from the home. Investigators are working with the victim to gather evidence and find leads in the case. Were still working with the victim to determine what exactly was taken, Troxell said. The victim was later released from the hospital late Saturday. Anyone with information regarding this assault and robbery should contact Investigator M. McCaffrey of the Loudoun County Sheriffs Office Criminal Investigations Division at 703-7770475. If the caller wishes to remain anonymous, they are asked to contact Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. If the information provided leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000.

Expecting friends at 4am, clubbed then robbed for unknown items; yeah sounds like a drug dealer to me.

Pete, I agree with you. You dont open the door at that hour, at least until you have first looked out to see who it is and you are armed. And if you cant see who it is and you dont have a locked screen door as another barrier, dont open it!

yeah im not flinging open a door at 4:15 a.m. without a gun in my waistband and a satisfactory ID of whos at the door. Also, theres a new invention called the peephole. Combine that with the ingenious outside light and it REALLY helps you out.

The Berg and Captain Obvious are correct - this was no random act against some poor, innocent homeowner.

How come we are not getting a description of the home invaders? When the McDonalds in Countryside was robbed last week, we were immediatgely told it was 4 hispanics.

Looks like the cops will need to quit gathering in 2-3s, shooting the breeze in parking lots. Also, looks like they have more things to worry about than nabbing speeders. Wake up!

This was a drug deal gone bad. Simple as that. If you are up at 4:15 am in the morning on a Sunday waiting for your friends its a drug deal. Ergo no descriptions of the attackers. He knew who attacked him.

Anybody who knocks at a door at 4:15a should be greeted with a 12-Gauge Shotgun.

My friends often show up at my house at 4:15am, unannounced. Come on man. Why would you open the door at 4:15am? And why would you be up at 4:15am, on a Sunday, to answer the door?
