Additional Exercise - Week 1 Unit 5: Target Groups and


Campaigns

EXERCISE 1:

Business scenario:
In your role as marketing expert you want to prepare a new campaign for a target group.

Exercise goals:
In this exercise, you will learn how to create new target groups using the wizard, work centers and reports
and how to create a campaign from there.

Prerequisites
No prerequisites needed

Task 1: Create a new target group using the target group wizard
1. Log into SAP Business ByDesign system using the below mentioned credentials for Kathy
Jagger
a. User ID: marketing02s
b. Password: Welcome1
2. Click on Show/ hide work center navigation icon .
3. Open the marketing work center
4. Click on “Target groups”

5. See the list of your target groups and click on “new / target group” to create a new one
6. See the guided activity to create a new target group (Define properties, Select Members, Review
members, Confirmation)
7. Give the target group a unique description using your Student ID and the term “TNHH”

8. Continue with “Next” to go to step 2


9. You will now see many search fields you can use to search and populate your target group.
10. Do not change anything but directly click on the “Go” to see a basic list of active accounts
11. See a result list of accounts which are active
12. Now go to the “Name” field and enter “TNHH” boil down the members of your target group
TNHH company

13. Click on the of “Name” field


14. Choose Options “Contains pattern” then click “OK”

15. Click on the “Go” to see the TNHH customers

16. Click on the button “Add / All” to select all customers to your target group
17. See your customers in the “selected “Target Group Members” list
18. Mark the customer “Công Ty TNHH Thành Đồ Thành Đô vacation” in the “selected Target Group
Members” list

19. Click on “Remove / Selected” to remove one specific customer from the final target group
20. Continue with “Next” to check your target group list in step 3

21. Click on “Addressability Check / For E-Mail Address”


22. See that some customers do not have E-Mail address maintained

23. Click on “Finish” and “Close”

Task 2: Create a new target group using a work center view


1. Stay logged on as “marketing02s” with password “Welcome1”
2. Click on Show/ hide work center navigation icon .
3. Open the Account Management work center
4. Select the contacts view
5. In the contacts view switch to the option “All Contacts” from the drop-down list

and click on
6. See all contacts and click on the button “Export / To Target Group”

7. See the newly created target group and add your ID at the beginning of the target group
description

8. Click on the button “Check Addressability / For E-Mail address”


and see that some contacts do not have e-mail address maintained

9. Select contacts which is marked as red “not addressable” and click the button “Remove”

10. Click on “Save and Close”

Task 3: Create a new target group using a report starting with a KPI
1. Stay logged on as “marketing02s” with password “Welcome1”

2. Click on Show/ hide work center navigation icon

3. Click on “Sales Orders/ Report/ Lists”

4. Click on “Sales Order Volume”

5. Click:

6. In the detail report click on the button “View” to add the account to the drill-down

7. Click on the icon next to “Row Fields”


8. In the row selection dialog check the “Account”
9. In the row selection dialog uncheck the “Product” and confirm with OK
10. See the report chart by account and click on the button to show “Table and Chart”
11. Click on any account name in the table, for example “CREATOR PACIFIC LIMITED”
12. Click on the small triangle which appears and select “Export all Accounts to new Target Group”

13. See the newly created target group and add your ID in front of the target group description

14. Save and close the new target group

Task 4: Merge multiple target groups


1. Stay logged on as “marketing02s” with password “Welcome1”
2. Click on Show/ hide work center navigation icon .
3. Open the marketing work center
4. Click on “Target groups”
5. Click on Edit for one of the target groups with your ID: 3118??????? - TNHH
6. Click the button “Maintain Members”
7. Switch in the drop-down to “Target Groups”

8. Click Go
9. Select one or multiple target groups with your ID (example 3118??????? – Create from contacts)
and click Add/Selected

10. Click the button “Add/Selected”

11. See all additional members of your target group

12. Click on “Return to target group”

13. Type new name of group in Target Group Description

14. Click Save

15. Click in “You can also”


16. Select “New Campaign”
17. Add your ID to the name of the newly created campaign

18. Select the campaign type


from the drop-down

19. Click on “View all”

20. Save the campaign


21. Click on “Execute”
22. Open the Excel which is generated as output file. Save the excel file
