Not everyone who plays computer or video games are unsophisticated or

uneducated, it is actually the opposite. Computer and video games have often been
frowned upon by parents as they believe it is a waste of time or that it will corrupt
their children. However, this is not the case. Computer and video games are not
harmful but instead can be educational to children.

Firstly, it improves coordination and multitasking skills. When a player is

playing a game, they are required to look at the screen, listen to the game audio and
make physical movements at the same time. The player would then need to learn how
to multitask. This would result in learning to memorizing the keys on the keyboard or
memorizing the buttons on your game console. This can be extremely useful for your
everyday life. Individuals who manage to obtain these skills of multitasking from
playing games would greatly benefit them in the future. They would be able to run
tasks without a hitch. They now know how to handle multiple things at once, if not
even faster than others. Now, these individuals have better visual-spatial, better eye
coordination, better hearing, and better reaction. Thus, playing games eventually
creates muscle memories to do a number of things at once.

Secondly, it enhances the brain’s speed and memory. At the beginning of

every game, there will always be rules and instructions. Players would then have to
read or listen to those rules and instructions and remember them throughout the game.
Players would also need to master the keys of their keyboard. They would need to
memorize what each key does in order to play the game. Players can implement these
skills in their studies. These individuals would be able to understand information and
instructions and do the work faster. Since they have memorized the keys on their
keyboard, this would enable them to be able to type faster. This increases speed in
finishing an assignment or such. Furthermore, players would be able to absorb and
memorize information in class better. Those who play computer or video games can
frequently process information faster than others.

Lastly, it can improve one’s social skills. Computer or video games allow the
players to communicate with various groups of people. It could be people from within
your state, country or with people from the other side of the world. The most game
requires players to communicate with other players either by chat or by voice call.
This forces players to be more socially active, causing them to be more responsive.
This would cause them to be more outspoken and less shy. Other than that, it would
also teach them about teamwork and how to communicate and negotiate with another
individual. Thus, playing games can help improve a child’s social abilities and teach
them how to make friends. In conclusion, playing computer or video games are not as
harmful to children as one might think. They can actually be very educational in
different ways. They can also greatly benefit children in the future, in school or in
their careers. Parents should instead encourage their children to play games that are
