1.0 Executive Summary

Offering a complete service in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is


essential in any business firm. We take care of your technology so that your
workforce is free to focus on your customers’ needs, build productivity, grow profits,
and embark on the journey to Digital Transformation. BISHANGWAYO SMART
SOLUTIONS (‘BSS), is an information technology firm that specializes in database
management and application development support. BSS strives to provide the high
quality technological business solutions with a concentrated focus on the ICT sector.
BSS, established in 2022, is located in Posta, Dar es Salaam. The company currently
has six full–time staff members with expansion plans to add five more within the next
three years.

BSS focuses its efforts in two service areas: database and application development
and support. BSS strives to foster and maintain solid relationships with its clients,
fine tune its services, and continue to develop innovative business solutions that will
improve the way their clients do business. Due to its small size, BSS has the unique
ability to act quickly and easily meets or beats its deadlines. Its main limitation is its
limited staff resources. BSS plans to expand personnel over the next three years to
meet achieve a balance of supply and demand.

The purpose of this plan is to create a strategy for BSS that will increase its revenues
annually by 20%, and simultaneously grow assets 25%. Overall, this business plan
will provide an in–depth understanding of the company, along with a plan for growth
in the future.

1.1 Business Objectives

The primary objectives of BSS are:

1 Provide custom solutions with outstanding customer service– which enhances
its customer’s efficiency and secures BSS long relationship via contracts and
recurring projects.

2 Grow company in staffing to accommodate the growing need for services by


offering a dynamic work environment with flexible hours, a commitment to
ongoing education, and offer bonuses to commensurate with performance and
earnings.

3 Focus on delivering contracts. BSS has a can do attitude and is happy to get
the deliverables in the most efficient manner to its clients.

1.2 Mission Statement

It is BSS mission to empower business firms to meet their objectives. BSS


strives to foster and maintain positive relationships with each and every client
(both internal and external), by providing cutting edge technology services at
reasonable and competitive prices.

1.3 Guiding Principles

Be Dedicated. Every day, consistency is key. BSS is dedicated to each and


every job – down to the very last detail. It is this tenacity, attention and focus
to detail on each and every project that defines the success of this organization.

Be Dependable. BSS believes that a commitment to meet all its obligations


punctually, honestly and honorably. BSS believes that if you are the "go to"
business, you'll never have to worry about having to generate extra leads or
word-of-mouth referrals.

2.0 Company Description

BSS strives to foster and grow empowered relationships with business firms. While
small in size, the BSS team of experts has collectively has over 5 years’ experience
in computer problem solving and solutions. With its corporate office located at
Shaaban Robert St, Dar es Salaam, BSS easily targets local business firms with aim
of expanding its market base.

BSS seeks long term contracts with a focus on database management and application
and development. BSS is the industry expert and can truly not only understand its
customers’ needs but can identify solutions that are just as dynamic as the
technologies and industries themselves. In turn, it is BSS belief that its customers
will return time and time again for additional projects and long term contracts. BSS
has future plans for some diversification and in the next ten-year horizon plans to
diversify its markets by incorporating the banking industry as well.

2.1 Team and Management

Originally formed as a partnership business BSS is formed by a team of six


people. BSS is owned by Arnold Bishangwayo, Hamis Mbuya, James
Weinand, Salim Salim, Harold Martin and Binuru Hassan.

Arnold Bishangwayo is the CEO. Mr. Arnold graduated from UDSM with a
diploma in Computer Science but currently he is pursuing and winding up with
his Degree in Computer Science. He is a database expert with 4 years of
experience with all database tools necessary.

Hamis Mbuya is the Marketing Officer of the company. He is currently winding


up with his bachelor Degree at IFM studying Computer Science. He has all
necessary marketing skills and communication skills also with qualified
techniques of gathering requirements.

James Weinand is the Designing Officer. He is a diploma graduate from UDSM


with a Computer Science awards from the university. He has experience with
graphics and designing of 3 years and an expert in defining best User
Experience platforms.

Salim Salim is the Head of Applications Development, with a 5 years’


experience in web development and application development. Mr. Salim is
currently finishing his bachelor degree of Computer Science in IFM.

Harold Martin is the Finance Manager at the company. He has experience with
budgeting and setting proper utilization of the resources of the company. He is
currently finishing his degree at IFM.

Ms. Binuru Hassan is the Customer Relationship Coordinator. With a lot of


experience with handling customers Ms. Binuru is capable of retaining

customers with the right CRM skills necessary. She is currently pursuing her
degree at IFM.

2.1 Legal Form

BSS is a Partnership business formed in 2022 doing business in the Dar es


salaam.

2.2 Location and Facilities

The corporate office of BSS is located in the heart of Dar es Salaam which is
Posta at Shaaban Robert St, Dar es Salaam. The city has a population of over 4
million according to mini–Census Report generated as the city grows.

BSS partners with its business clients and assures the production of quality
deliverables from each task assigned, assuring the development of long term
business relationships. BSS provides the following services:

 Analysis of business requirements relevant to the application architecture,

 Application software testing,

 System level integration and testing

4.1 Industry Analysis

The ministry of Information, Communication and Information Technology was


established on 12th September, 2021 by the president of united of Republic of
Tanzania, Led by Hon. Nape Nnauye. The Ministry is meant to formulate and
monitor implementation of policies on information and communication
technologies and, Postal services. The President of the United of Republic of
Tanzania created a Ministry of Information, Communication and Information
Technology on 12th September 2021, which is mandated to formulate and
monitor implementation of Policies on Information, Information Technology,
Telecom- munications and Postal. The Ministry is also responsible for ICT
broadband Back-Borne; Performance Improvement and Development of Human
resources; extra-Ministerial Departments, Parastatal Organizations; Agencies
and Projects under this Ministry.

It has been in operations since 2000. It is incorporated in Tanzania under the
Companies Act as a private limited company with Registration Number
39801.
It has more than 20 years of business experience in Tanzania speaks of the
reliability, sustainability, and trust that our customers, partners, and regulators
have in us. UBX was originally registered as Intrinsic Technology Tanzania
Ltd (ITT). In 2004, ITT was acquired by Business Connexion (Pty) Ltd of
South Africa and changed its name to Business Connexion Tanzania (BCX).
UCS acquired BCX majority shareholding in 2021 and changed the name of
