Inthe Philippines, a convenience store is a one stop shop which caters food, beverages, personal ‘essentials and other needs of a community. Stores such as Mini Stop, 7-11, Lawson Station and Family Mart are a few popular convenience store in the country. Itis located anywhere; near schools, inside commercial buildings, business districts and even along highways beside gasoline stations for those travelling. It can be considered as a smaller grocery store; with compact shelves and of course smaller spaces. ‘Though it is a simple structure; designers must keep the following things in mind: 1. Make sure that the items are zoned properly; to make it easy for customer to find things. Remember unlike grocery stores; convenience stores only has 2 to 3 staffto help them, 2, Since convenience stares can be quite congested. The staff must have a clear view of all, store activities to monitor shoplifter 3. Usually cashiers are near the doorway. For the reason that it adds protection from theft since the cashier will be visible from outside. Also it will alert the cashier for the incoming and outgoing customers. 4, Areas for self service should be located visible or near the staff or cashier in case customers will need assistance and the store only has 1 or 2 employees. 5. Make sure items that will be placed on racks and coolers will not be s hindrance on the passageway. 6. Locate food that complement each other adjacent. And make sure that the most popular items are in the middle of the store so the customers will see the other items and items on sale, 7. Locate the trashcans visible from the dining area so that customers will know to clean, up after they eat.
