Purpose
The purpose of the MS is to outline the requirement and responsibilities for works carried
out concrete repair works at berth#4 damaged or deteriorated areas in the cope beams
during the hours of darkness or in the areas where artificial lighting is required.
Environment
*All chemicals shall have MSDS & it must be available at site and properly communicated to
workforce as well.
*First aiders & fire fighters are available for nightshift activities
*Waste Materials shall clearly labelled bins for disposal, The bins shall be emptied through
correct, and as per the Qatar Energy approved -GC16103400 Waste management plan.
* The lighting levels in a workplace should be adequate to ensure that workers can work
without risk to their health from poor or inadequate lighting, does not result in excessive
differences in illuminance within an area or between adjacent areas, managing the health
and safety risks from lighting in the workplace includes:
Planning: Set target for improvement by assessing whether the lighting is suitable and safe
for the work being carrying out
Organizing: if lighting is proving to be problem in the workplace, then they should bring this
to the attention of the performing authority (PA), the Performing authority should also
ensure there are competent electrical technician available to deal with any lighting
problem.
Control: Checking on a regular basis and ensuring the lighting levels & arrangements are
maintained. There should be a system in place for the maintenance, replacement &
disposal lamps & luminaires.

JHA: When assessing lighting in the workplace, OA&PA must consider whether the
arrangements for workplace lighting are satisfactory or might present a risk to workers,
contractors, or visitors to the premises.

5. SEQUENCE OF OPERATION

• Installation / Erection
Any Installation and Erection activity shall be in accordance with approved drawing.
Materials lifting activity shall be carried out by an approved Rigger from Fabrication to Site to
avoid damage to materials and property.
Lifting of painted structural members shall be done with a nonabrasive choker.
Evidence of materials quality inspection documentation such as receiving inspection and
fabrication approval drawing shall be available prior to installation and erection for easy site
references during installation and erection.
All miscellaneous structural steel fabrication with connection to main beams, columns and
supports shall be as per approved design drawings. Connection installation are as per the
following criteria specified under PIP STS05130 and 12-SAMSS-007.

• Welded Connections

• Check and verify the Structural Stability of the installed or erected structures in connections with
temporary bracing adequacy and guy cables requirement to counteract loading imposed during
erection.
• When Setting of Base Plates, erector shall clean the top of bearing surfaces and the bottom of base
plates. The erector shall set and shim column base plates to correct positions, elevations, and locations
as shown on the erection drawing. If setting nuts are used, they shall be loosened before grouting.
• Check bolted connections in line with high strength bolt tensioning method using calibrated torque
wrenches and approved torque value table.
• All welded connections must be as per approved.
• Any kind of error corrections on fabrication during assembly and erection shall be approved by
JGC/DEC Engineering.
