minimum of 50 words.
1. Which art do you appreciate or captivates you most? (Module 2.2)
Analysis The artwork that captivates me the most is the colorful painting showing the many views of a woman, The Weeping Woman of Picasso. This artwork is abstract but still representational. It provides different insights of what is deep inside a woman. This represents predominantly the sadness of a woman influenced by many factors. Picasso’s work clearly mirrors the pain therein as he did this artwork during the Spanish Civil War wherein women weep the loss of her family, children and belongings. 2. Does your opinion about the artwork change the longer you look at it? (Module 2.2) Though I already know that an art mirrors emotions and such, after seeing this artwork, my opinion in art has elevated more. Art is more than just the stroke of paint brushes or the shade of pencils, it also amplifies the different emotions and experiences being held by the people. The Weeping Woman artwork tells the story that women, because of various circumstances like civil unrest, may feel hard emotions and burst her sorrow and fears through tears. We all have our own baggage internally and this artwork shows that our emotions are valid, you may unhide them. Assessment 1. Looking at the image (black dot) what insights or realizations can you discover? Give at least two (2). (Module 2.1) A small black dot placed in a clean white plane. In Yin yang, white is good while black is bad. Typically, people would take notice to the black dot and might even say negative perceptions with regards to the whole plane. That is the sad reality. No matter how clean, pure and elegant something is, many would still look for its flaws and even amplify their disappointment over it. A person who has done a lot of great things might be scrutinized over a small and unsignificant mistake he has committed. In contrast with many people’s perception about the black dot, I am actually mesmerized by the pureness of white. Though not actually regarded as colour, white is actually my most favourite therein. I like cleanliness, elegance and simplicity of white. With this, I have assessed that in the 18 years of my life, I always value the goodness rather than the darkness of everyone and everything. Reflection 1. Did you enjoy the activity? Why? With every activity that I did, I enjoyed every single one of them. These activities are related to Arts. I must say that I am not excellent in paintings and the other kinds of art but I’m interested in it. With every knowledge that gained through this lesson, I clearly enjoyed every piece of it. I have learned that arts can be felt through different emotions and can also be used to portray different emotions. With emotions, I see the beauty of people and the world. Moreover, these activities made me see life in a positive manner yet, recognizing the fact that each of us has his own battles giving off negative emotions which are all valid.
