Activity 1. Assess Yourself

Activity 2. Ask and Tell
My friend is a student of Palawan State University-Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. I
interviewed him regarding his perceptions of the Four Filipino Core Values.
1. A. Maka-Diyos
According to him, being Maka-Diyos means having faith in the Almighty God, and having
faith in God means doing and being good to others.
B. Maka-Tao
Being in the service of others makes one Maka-tao. One also has to uphold and respect
other people.
C. Maka-bayan
He said that we, Filipinos, love our country very much. We try to do everything to make
our country great and livable. A simple way of loving and respecting our country is by
recognizing our National Anthem and our Flag.
D. Maka-kailikasan
He said that Filipinos are generally Maka-kalikasan. He observes that many of us take
care of the environment because we know how crucial it is in our lives. A Maka-
kalikasan person follows the clean and green, segregation signs.
2. A student is a crucial element of nation-building. They are the image of the future and
in order to secure a promising future, students shall behave and perform accordingly
and shall also practice the core values of the Filipinos.

Individual Assessment
We live not just for ourselves but also for others. We, Filipinos, are a nation. We uphold
the sense of nationalism. Aside from that, we do things for the betterment of ourselves, our
families, and others. In order to be the best version of ourselves, we follow the Filipino Core
Values.

One of the components of college life is the NSTP. Currently, I am under the NSTP-
CWTS. This is a promising course for everyone since it helps in nurturing the goodness in
students. One of the best outcomes of CWTS is the betterment of upholding the Filipino Core
Values.

I can express my commitment to support the Core Values by following the rules of CWTS
and the instructions of my trainer. Aside from that, I will also actively participate in the events
organized by the NTSP-CWTS Office. I know, for certain, that all the activities organized under
this certain office are inclined with the Filipino Core Values. By following the instructions and by
attending the events, I will develop great attitudes and attributes like possessing the Filipino
Core Values. By supporting the NSTP activities, I can be a Maka-Diyos, Maka-tao, Maka-bayan
and Maka-kalikasan. These values are well-taught in the NSTP.

Aside from being a student, I am also a citizen of the Philippines. With that, I have to
make sure that I will perform to the best of my ability the responsibilities of a citizen. Many of
these are to make sure that I love and support my country, respect and uphold the dignity of
every human person, take care of and nurture the environment and by praying to God,
everything will be possible.

I will always abide by the Filipino Core Values because I am a man possessing great
dreams for my family, other people, my nation, and myself.
