Andalucía

Location: It´s a south-western European


region, in the south of the Iberian peninsula,
immediately south of Extremadura and
Castile–La Mancha; west of Murcia and the
Mediterranean Sea; east of Portugal and the
Atlantic Ocean; and north of the
Mediterranean Sea and the Strait of
Gibraltar. It's the second largest in area of
the autonomous communities in Spain.

Capital City and Provinces: It's divided into eight


provinces:Almería,Cádiz,Córdoba,Granada,
Huelva,Jaén,Málaga and Seville. Its capital is the city of
Sevilla.

Population: 8.402.305 people (17.84% of Spain) in 2014.

Climate:Warm-temperate region(Medium:16ºC)
It experiences a Mediterranean climate, except
in the Valley of Granada with occasional heavy
rains and extremely hot temperatures.
Geography:
Rivers:Flowing to the Atlantic are the Guadiana,
Odiel-Tinto, Guadalquivir, Guadalete, and
Barbate. Flowing to the Mediterranean are the
Guadiaro, Guadalhorce, Guadalmedina,
Guadalfeo, Andarax and Almanzora

Relief:The three main geographical regions of Andalucia
are:
● The Sierra Morena separates Andalucia from Extremadura
and Castilla–La Mancha.
● The Cordillera Bética consists of the parallel mountain
ranges of the Cordillera Penibética near the Mediterranean
coast and the Cordillera Subbética to the north. The
Cordillera Subbética is quite discontinuous. The Sierra
Nevada, part of the Cordillera Penibética in the Province of
Granada, has the highest peaks in the Iberian peninsula:
Mulhacén (3.481 m) and Veleta (3.324 m)
● Valley of the Guadalquivir is between these two
mountainous areas. It is a flat territory, open to the Atlantic
Ocean in the southeast.

Cordoban salmorejo, pringá, jamón ibérico
(Iberian ham).
