2. Determine the standard method of measurement and
principles of measurement.

METHOD: Problem-based learning (PBL)

Instructions:

1. QS plays a vital role in the management and delivery of construction project. A

successful QS will a need to master many skills. Explain in detail at least five (5)
core services of a QS.

2. In the Malaysian construction industry, quantities are measured with reference to

Malaysian Standard Method of Measurement Second Edition (SMM2). However,
various other standards are similarly being adopted around the world. Select a
country within the Commonwealth and identify the standard or rules of
measurement being adopted there. Then, discuss the general differences as
compared to SMM2. (For example: NRM in UK vs SMM2 in Malaysia, etc)

In a group of 4 to 5 ONLY, prepare your findings in Microsoft PowerPoint. Your

presentation should NOT EXCEED 20 slides and must be submitted on e-Leap by 5th
December 2022 (Monday) 5.00pm. Any late submission WILL NOT be entertained.
All submissions must be completely genuine without any plagiarism. Stern actions will
be taken on those who violate the rules.
