COMPARISION BETWEEN ONLINE LEARNING DURING THE PANDEMIC TO FACE-TO-FACE LEARNING

3RD PARA. (Difference of OL & F2F)

-PASOK SIYA SA ENVIRONMENT

In traditional face-to-face learning scenarios, lessons are planned and structured according to a fixed
timetable. This learning system is therefore more disciplined. Classroom learning also takes place in a
group setting to encourage more discussion, interaction, and participation. Online learning is more
spontaneous than scheduled face-to-face sessions. Learners can take courses or learning modules online
whenever they feel inspired or curious. Best of all, they can do it at their own pace and whenever they
want. The learner is self-sufficient in this environment as the teacher is not directly involved in this type
of learning.
4th PARA. (Study of OL & F2F)

Traditional or face-to-face learning environments have been criticized because they encourage passive
learning, ignore individual differences, and needs of the learners, and do not pay attention to problem
solving, critical thinking, or other higher order thinking skills (Banathy, 1994; Hannum & Briggs, 1982).
New advances in Internet-based technology have brought challenges and opportunities to education
and training, through online instruction. Online instruction is a form of distance education delivered
over the Internet. For many, this type of instruction is perceived as a breakthrough in teaching and
learning because it facilitates the exchange of information and expertise while providing opportunities
for all types of learners in distant or disadvantaged locations (Hill, 1997; Webster & Hackey, 1997).

Relationship Between Academic Performance and Korean Wave

1ST PARA. (KOREAN WAVE)

The term "Korean Wave," often known as "Hallyu," describes the appeal of Korean culture, particularly
K-pop music, and K-dramas. Following the establishment of diplomatic ties between South Korea and
China in 1992, the word Hallyu was first used in the early 1990s. Since the 2010s, the Korean Wave,
which had built a strong base through popular culture like TV dramas, has been expanding its sphere of
impact. The enthusiasm has spread to Korean traditional culture, which is why people appreciate it,
since the distinct charm of Korean culture is widely recognized to people across the world through
global online platforms like YouTube and social networking sites.

2nd PARA. ACADEMIC

Academic performance is a measure of a student's performance in various departments. Teachers and

educators typically measure performance based on classroom performance, completion rates, and
standardized test scores. Academic performance/achievement is the extent to which a student, teacher,
or institution has achieved short-term or long-term educational goals, as measured by continuous
assessment or cumulative grade point average (CGPA). –( dagdagan nalang ng thoughts)
