BURGLAR ALARM

Working

The heart of the circuit is LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) and Ic LM358. When light falls on the
LDR the resistor of LDR will decrease and vice versa.

In the below circuit LM358 is configured as voltage comparator. The output of L M385 get when
the input voltage at Pin 3 is greater than voltage at Pin 2 and output get low when voltage at Pin 2 greater
than Pin 3. The input voltage at Pin 2 is fixed and can vary using the Preset (RV1, 10K) and the
sensitivity of circuit depends on this voltage.

At normal condition there is some light falls on LDR and due to low resistance the voltage at PIN
3 is low and so output also keep low. When shadow comes into the LDR the resistance will increase and
voltage drop at PIN 3 also increase, and so output goes to high and the transistor Q1 switch Buzzer.
