TikTok is known as one of the most popular social media app which has more than
one billion users and is growing rapidly

III. Content of presentation

1.Definition:

Lô tô is supposedly delivered from Le Loto  - the gambling game in France. Lô tô is

the blend of Le Loto with performing art ( dragqueen, music, comedy). One ticket
has 60 number, the winner, is the person who marks all 4 horizontal numbers on the
same ticket that has been called by the administrator before.

2.History:

 It became one of the contemporary and popular games quickly in the 80s-90s of the
20th century in many Southwestern Vietnamese regions. After the golden age, in
2018  Lô tô faded because of appearances of modern entertaining forms. Lo to
shows gradually become the old memory of the Southwestern Vietnamese people.
And now lô tô is gradually being accepted and considered as a form of
entertainment by people.

3.Performance

Previously, this performance began in the evening, but people began preparing from
midday to avoid missing out on the fantastic opportunity to relax with the Lo to
troupe. 
The performances of troupe members are glamorous and fun. They wear traditional
clothes like Ba ba, ao dai , glittering costumes with heavy makeup, and they
perform under bright stage lights. 
The performers flirt outrageously, crack jokes and make the audience laugh. It
involves people being invited to play Loto while being entertained with song and
comedy routines. After selling Lo To cards, the performers take a random ball with
a number from 1 to 60 and sing the songs that had appropriate rhyme with the lucky
number to shout it. You can listen to the melody of "dan ca, vong co", "bolero", and
conversations among members of the Loto troupes. Players will listen and tick on
their cards. There are only 4 numbers for each horizontal row on Lo to cards, and
winners have to own all of them. Winner will say “kinh”. Gifts for winners is
variety such as teddy bears, phones, ..
4. Lô tô singers

4.1. Requirement 

Firstly, It’s a sense of humor. They bring joy to the audience by singing the random
number for a joke.  Then, they have a natural talent for music and an excellent
reflex to sing out loud the number immediately. In addition, they need aural skills
and know how to find rhymes. And it will be even better or we call it a plus mark if
the singer has a good appearance to get the audience’s attention.

4.2 Lo to singer’s real life in viet nam

Not all the singers get the support from their own family who always ask them to
get married and force them to live with gender on identification. They are denied
and left home with the unwillingness. In spite of their talent, life doesn’t go easily
with them. In the fair, they temporarily set up a makeshift accommodation where to
sleep and eat. They also have to face to with the burden of finance since their
income isn’t stability

“Why are they still purchasing this job?”Perhaps only when standing on stage, they
can be themselves, they realize themselves brilliant and shining. Above all, they are
proud of the great values that they have brought to the LGBT community as well as
this society.

The last message which is suitable for the Lô tô troupe’s singers. It’s a quote from
Lady Gaga:  “I’m beautiful in my way. Cause God makes no mistakes” – Lady
Gaga.

5. Meaning

-Lo To creates jobs for disadvantaged LGBT people who are attracted to more than
one gender. This is a place where they can shine, bring laughter to everyone and be
themselves. In vietnamese we call them as these people “trôi sông lạc chợ”. 

-Moreover, Lô tô praises the customary and historical traditions of Vietnam,

favorably Prioritizes the original Ao Dai, Ba Ba Ao, without modern or excessive
methods. Bringing many cultural beauties, you know. As a result Lô Tô helps
preserve the cultural and folk beauty of the country

-Not only bringing laughter to the audience, the bingo artists also show lessons and
educate in a subtle way about family and culture when the main songs are folk
songs, proverbs, and rhymes from ancient times.

6. Core values

We should have a more objective view of the traditional game as Lo to, about
transgender artists. Because they are working with their own ability, they are not
doing anything wrong with society. They deserve respect. not ridiculed. These
artists brought laughter to many viewers, earn money themselves

Finally, we should have more respect for cultural beauty, strengthening the
country's literature through folk songs and proverbs.
