SUMMARY
In the text “product distribution: the basics,” we learn that we can realize the
different types of transport distribution that we can use. That we can find among
the fastest for delivery as well as the slowest ones, as the most expensive and the
most economical, those that contribute the most to the environment and those that
generate the most pollution. There is also the risk that the merchandise may suffer
if it is not insured and with a good packaging, that in some transport options it is
better to send a good amount of merchandise, this helps to have a good saving.

It is very important for a supplier to be aware of the cost of shipping or bringing

products from another country, keep in mind that if we are going to save costs, we
have to take into account that the product may take longer to be delivered, this
contemplated that we are going to send it to be brought by boat, if we need the
product in the shortest possible time, we must consider that the only way to bring it
quickly would be by air and this would entail a higher cost. Keep in mind that if the
product to be distributed has a high cost, it is advisable to purchase insurance in
case of damage or possible loss.

In conclusion, we learned about the different types of transportation, which are as

follows:

ROAD, which would be cheaper but risky due to the different types of new
developments on the road and their restrictions.

RAIL, which would be much more costly but more efficient in that there are not as
many risks.

AIR, which would be more costly, but would arrive much more quickly.

SEA, which would be much cheaper if transported in large quantities, but we would
have 2 points against. It is necessary to obtain transportation from the port to the
destination, and the ports may be far from the distribution centers.
COURIER, that it would be quite costly and that there are many restrictions when it
comes to carrying the product, such as weight and that they only travel short
distances.
