LoadeR - User Guide
LoadeR - User Guide
Hey! Welcome.
Your LoadeR download comes with 2 versions: LoadeR and LoadeR Mira*.
What is LoadeR?
LoadeR lets you load audio/midi fx/M4L devices and instruments from keyboard
shortcuts and/or midi controllers.
LoadeR Mira* lets you use your oily iPad’s screen to do it.
Thanks to MiraWeb you should also be able to use your iPhone, Android phone, tablet or
even another computer via a web browser*, but I can’t assure this bit to work for every
one (I tested with an old iPhone 4 with success, but don’t have access to e.g an Android
phone)
You can load Live’s audio/midi/instrument/rack devices, M4L devices, and also VST/AU
plugins.
You can use both versions simultaneously, and use as many instances as you want. So, if
you feel like you’re missing slots in an instance… just load up another one!
LoadeR and LoadeR Mira* could have been packed into a single M4L device, but I
didn’t want to have the Mira things running for people that don’t use it… for the sake of
stability.
Both versions work the same.
How to?
- Put LoadeR/LoadeR Mira* in any track (e.g I put these type of utility devices on my
Master track)
- Drag’n’drop .adv/.adg/.amxd/.vstpreset/.aupreset les on the launcher slots (you see
« empty » written when there’s no device in a launcher slot (sometimes, with e.g M4L
devices, the pointer shows as « impossible to drop here » but the process actually
works)
- key/midi map the launcher slot(s).
- You’re good to go!
- (at this point I encourage you to save this in your default set so you won’t never have
to do these steps again)
Now, simply load an fx/instrument on the currently selected track by pressing your
corresponding shortcut (oily iOS screen for the Mira version):
- The new device will always be placed at the end of the chain.
- If you load a midi fx/instrument while the selected track is an audio track, and/or if
there’s no midi track in your set, then the midi fx/instrument will be placed in a new midi
track.

You might sometimes need to Undo twice to undo a device loading right after you added it
(which shouldn’t be the case very often, unless you don’t know your shortcuts correctly)… well,
life and Live aren’t perfect, and neither M4L is, sorry.
You might notice that you can’t go to Live Browser’s FX section, drag e.g Saturator and
drop it over a LoadeR’s slot. No worries!
You need to use the .adv/.adg les.
These could be the presets you nd when opening the e.g Saturator presets folder, your
own presets (you only know where you put them!), or e.g any le found in Live’s Sound
Category.

The free LoadeR lite is limited to 2 devices slots, and you can’t load multiple instances
(well, technically you can, but you’ll quickly be upset…)
*Using the Mira version requires you to install Cycling 74’s Mira on your iOS
smart thing, of course!
You might also need to install the MiraWeb package (in Max) if you’re using
a non-Apple tablet/phone. To do so: open Max > File> show package
manager, from here nd the MiraWeb package. Download and install it
from Max. At this point you can close Max and should be good to go (you
might need to restart Live). With the V1.1 update, you might need to
remove and re-install MiraWeb.
Use this address on your tablet/smartphone web browser to connect to LauncheR Mira.
