ASMB Home Center and Services

Problem 2 Using Program Evaluation & Review Technique (PERT)

One of the regular customer of ASMB Home Center and Services ordered furnitures
and appliances via online and she wanted to know how long it would take to
receive her order , by using PERT method we can determine the delivery duration
from BATANGAS-BATANES.

FIGURE 1.
ACTIVITY ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION ESTIMATED DURATION/ DAYS

OPTIMISTIC MOST PESSMISTIC

(to) LIKELY (tp)
(tm)

1-2 Checking of Stocks/items 6 9 18

2-3 Preparing the Item/s 3 7 17

2-4 Create Purchase order 4 10 16
2-5 Completion of orders/ items 2 6 16

3-5 Creating delivery 5 10 29

4-5 Shipment of the Item 6 11 22
5-6 Delivering the Item 4 7 16

We will use the formula of PERT Method to get the EXPECTED

TIME (te)
te = to+4tm+tp
6
to - Optimistic Time (shortest possible)
tm - Most Likely (normal condition)
tp - Pessimistic Time (maximum time)
te - Expected Time
