CONTENT STANDARD: The learners demonstrate an understanding of the parts and function of the
compound microscope.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD: The learners will be able to employ appropriate techniques using the
compound microscope to gather data about very small objects.

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the session, the students are expected to:
1. Tell and point out the parts and function of a microscope.
2. View different specimens under the microscope.
3. List different steps in proper handling and taking care of a microscope.

B. Motivation
The class will be divided into 5 groups. An illustration of the microscope will be
shown. The students will guess which part is being pointed by the teacher. After guessing
the part, they are going to tell what is the function of that part.The group which will get
the higher score will be the winner.

C. Lesson Proper

Hands-on
Pictures of different types of microscope will be presented
Functions of the different types of microscope will be discussed
Proper handling and taking care of microscopes will also be discussed
