    In blood glucose regulation: 1. When blood sugar rises, the pancreas secretes the hormone insulin which signals the liver, muscles and other cells to store the excess glucose to return blood glucose levels to normal. 2. If blood glucose levels are too low, the pancreas releases the hormone glucagon which causes the liver to break down glycogen into glucose to increase blood glucose levels. 3. The suckling action of an infant produces prolactin, leading to milk production in a positive feedback system where more suckling leads to more prolactin and milk.
