Automatic Site Positioning - Release Notes

Automatic Site Positioning is an add-in for Atoll (version 3.2.1 or above)

It offers automatic site placement for Greenfield networks thanks to two deployment
strategies based on hexagonal and smart (coverage based) designs
The main functionality of this module is to:
- Place sites automatically

1. Introduction

When opening an Atoll's document with this add-in installed, a new folder called
"Automatic Site Positioning" will appear in the data explorer.
By right clicking with the mouse on this folder, the user can access either the
general site positioning properties or the creation of a site positioning scenario.

2. Strategies

Placement parameters:
- Simultaneous positioning of station templates within several zones
- Preferred or forbidden positioning according to clutter classes
- Searchy for the highest location search for candidates within a predefined
distance
- Antenna height selection based on clutter height

Specific parameters for hexagonal design:

- Inter site distance

Objectives for smart design:

- Global coverage threshold for any deployment zone
- Specific coverage thresholds based on clutter classes
- Coverage target rate (%)

Optimisation algorithms:
- Deployment along roads (vectors)
- Placement within area (zones)

Optimisation results:
- Implementation changes ranked by potential coverage improvement
- Storage of multiple deployment plans for simultaneous analysis
- Transfer of prediction calculation from ASP to Atoll platform
- Easy commit and roll back of implementation plans
- Traffic carried or population coverage rate
