Research interests: Carbon Nanotubes, synthesis, applications, toxicity and environmental impact
PhD and post-doctoral experience in the field of the CCVD synthesis of carbon nanotube, as well as their filling by
various compounds (1D-crystals). Filling of CNT with magnetic materials is in progress within the framework of a European
network (CARBIO RTN, Marie Curie).
Optimisation of CCVD for selective synthesis of double-walled CNT (DWNT). This kind of CNT is especially well fitted
for applications in which the interface between the CNT and the outside environment is very important. CCVD synthesis of
CNT with controled morphology (distribution of number of walls and diameter) remains the central part of my research
activity. Preparation of CNT-containing Composite Materials, especially with polymer matrix (epoxy, elastomer).
Characterisation of electrical, electronic and optical properties of CNT, in particular in high magnetic field, in
collaboration with laboratories in France and abroad, but also with industrial partners (PhD grant). Human health and
environmental impact issues in relation with CNT (PhD student, coordination of a French National programme (ANR)) are
currently under investigation, as well as the purification and functionalisation of CNT by different techniques. Applications
of CNT to energy storage (supercapacitors, hybrid capacitor) or sensors (collaboration with LAAS, Toulouse) are also
investigated.
An important number of national (ACI, ANR, and also within the "Nanotubes" GDR-I) and international collaborations
have been developed and give to my research work a strong interdisciplinary and international basis.
