Appetizers International and Asian 1
APPETIZERS
Appetizers are the foreplay of meals. Great appetizers get you in the
mood; they get you excited about what else lies in store for you. Appetizers
are served before the main course and dessert as a refresher, but by the
twentieth century, they had taken their place as a precursor to the main
course. On the other hand, it is said that appetizers are the dishes that can
be considered Filipino because we are best known for using our hands to eat
the little finger foods that come with the first course. Appetizers can include
anything from fish to meat, nuts, and chips. They are often served before
dinner or at large family lunches.
Before serving any course of a meal, tiny bits of food known as
appetizers are served. Appetizers are delicate and exciting tiny morsels that
can tantalize your taste buds and increase your appetite. Different varieties
of appetizers like finger food, soups, and other intricate food preparations are
served at the beginning of your meal. Therefore, we can say that appetizers
are the first taste of any meal.
If we consider appetizers, we will come across many different types that
can be served before the meal. The first course of a meal is also called an
appetizer. The most important thing about an appetizer is that an appetizer
should not be very hard to eat. It should be light yet tempting. Various types
of vegetable soups are also preferred as appetizers.
There are a few things that make a good appetizer. The first is that it
should be easy to eat. This means it should be cut into small or bite-sized
pieces so people can eat it without making a mess. Secondly, an appetizer
should be flavorful and satisfy the main course’s appetite. It should not be too
filling but just enough to tease the taste buds. Lastly, an appetizer should be
visually appealing. This means that it should be arranged nicely on a plate
and perhaps even garnished with some decoration.
