System unit:
System unit is a part of a computer. It looks like a box but a very useful thing called as system
unit. All the main components of computer are attached with it. The system unit, also known as
a "tower" or "chassis," is the main part of a desktop computer. It includes the motherboard, CPU,
RAM, and other components. The system unit also includes the case that houses the internal
components of the computer.

3. USB (Universal Serial Bus): s a type of computer port which can be used to connect
equipment’s to a computer.
4. Power Connector: The very first socket on the backside of a system unit is used to
supply electricity to the computer is called power connector.
5. Power Cable: A power cable is an electrical cable used for transmission of
electrical power. One end of power cable is connected with switch board and other is
connected with system unit.
6. USB Ports For peripheral devices: These ports are used to connect peripheral devices
with computer. They are usually present at the backside of system unit, sometimes these
ports are present on the front system unit.
7. Serial port: It contains nine pins. It is used to connect mouse, scanner etc.
8. Parallel port: It contains 25 holes. Specific type of printers are connected with
it .monitor is also connected with this port.
9. Pin socket: They are present in radio and cassette player and also present in system unit.
They are used to attach speakers and microphone with system unit.

1. Drive bay: It is the part inside a system unit where hard drive and DVD (ROM) is
present.
2. Power supply: It provides electricity to all the components of computer. It is the small
box in the corner which supplies electricity. The wires coming out from power supply
converges at motherboard.
3. Motherboard: All the wires coming out from power supply are connected to
motherboard. It connects different parts of computer. It contains slots.
4. Interface cards: Interface cards are connected with slots of motherboard. They can be
removed. Sound card are used to connect speaker with system unit. When we connect
two or more computer ,we uses network card.
5. Microprocessor: It is the brain of a computer. It controls all the operations of
a computer.
6. Ram chip: Ram chips are connected in the ram slots of motherboard.
