Tesla is an American electric car company that was founded in 2003 as an


electric car company. Tesla is a leading electric car company that produces
vehicles that use electricity and gas to run.
Tesla's core competencies are:
1-Innovative and advanced production techniques.

One of the unique competencies of Tesla is its batteries, which are much
better and cheaper than other batteries for electric cars, following the
demands of customers, Tesla was able to build its own network of
compressors, which is incomparable.
Tesla's main focus is to provide high-quality customer service, and the
company's core values include respect for people, always doing the best
using the best technology available, anticipating, respecting the
environment, and fostering a learning-oriented work culture in the
organization. Through Tesla's competencies, it has positioned the business
to become a category king that provides the business with a major
competitive advantage by attracting potential customers who are looking

The Organizational Structure of Tesla:

Tesla is an automotive company like no other, led by the enigmatic Elon


Musk, constantly pushing the boundaries of what many in the industry
believe is possible.
As a leading international manufacturer of the one of the world's most
popular automobiles, Tesla had to balance marketing and sales against its
manufacturing capabilities and the need for continuous innovation. The
company is organized in a functional or U-shaped structure with global
functional centers covering all business activities. These function centers
include design, technology, engineering, finance, sales, marketing, and of
course the offices of the Chief Executive Officer (Elon Musk) and Chairman
(Robyn denholm).
All use a hierarchical structure with reporting lines from manager to
assistant. The Functional Center supports two major businesses, Automotive
and Energy Generation, with a subset of geographic businesses such as the
United States, China, and other major jurisdictions. All divisions of the
Company ultimately report to and are directed from its central US
headquarters in Palo Alto, California. This corporate structure maintains
business control across the company worldwide. This also allows
streamlining of processes and strategic direction directed by top
management and filtered through the organizational structure.
