Narrative of Intervention Alvaran and Acuman
A. Baseline Data
Pancho shares a home with Evelyn, his live-in partner, in Purok Bagumbuhay,
Barangay Rizal but he only stays here on the weekends and stays with in his
daughter’s house throughout the week. In order to provide for his family, Pancho
works as a construction worker. However, he recently quit working after receiving a
Tuberculosis diagnosis last October, 2022. His daughter Cristina, who works at a food
store, as well as his live-in companion Evelyn, pay for his medical and daily living
expenses. Her daughter and live-in partner were able to meet the client's
requirements for food, medicine, and other items thanks to the money they were
earning. As data was being gathered, it was discovered that Pancho's surroundings
include breeding sites, as shown by the presence of mosquitoes and other vectors. A
client interview revealed that they were unaware of the breeding sites and potential
health threat. As further information was gathered, it became clear that the client
was unaware of the breeding sites. Furthermore, it was noted during the home visit
that this was because their house is close to a rice field. Pancho frequently spends
time outside relaxing without wearing any protection from mosquito bites, which
raises some concern.
