KINDS OF ENERGY
1. Mechanical Energy - Whether an object is in motion or in a fixed location, it generates
mechanical energy. Kinetic energy plus potential energy equals mechanical energy.

2. Thermal Energy - The difference in temperature between two systems is represented as thermal
energy, often known as heat energy. Hot coffee has heat. You produce heat and thermal energy.

3. Nuclear Energy - Energy derived from atomic nuclei or nuclear processes is known as nuclear
energy.
4. Chemical Energy - The bonds of chemical molecules store energy. Exothermic reactions include
the release of chemical energy, typically in the form of heat, during a chemical reaction.

5. Sonic Energy - the vibrational energy of sound waves. Sound travels through the air or through
another medium.
KINDS OF SIMPLE MACHINES
1. Lever - A lever is a simple mechanism composed of a stiff item (often a bar) and a
fulcrum (or pivot). When a force is applied to one end of a rigid item, the object pivots
about the fulcrum, amplifying the force at another point along the object.

2. Wheel and Axle - A wheel is a round object that has a straight bar in the middle. When you
push on the wheel, the axle turns, which can be used to make the force bigger (by, for example,
having a rope wind around the axle). On the other hand, a force applied to the axle to make it
turn causes the wheel to turn.
3. Inclined Plane - A plane that is set at an angle to another plane is called an inclined plane. The
same amount of work is done, but the force is spread out over a longer distance.

4. Wedge - People often think of the wedge as a double inclined plane, since both sides are tilted,
that moves to apply a force along the length of each side. Since the force is perpendicular to the
sloped surfaces, it pushes two things (or parts of one thing) apart.

5. Screw - The slanted groove along the surface of a

shaft defines it as a screw. By turning the screw
(providing torque), a rotational force is transformed
into a linear one by applying it perpendicular to the
groove.
KINDS OF SOURCES OF ENERGY
1. Solar Energy - Energy from the sun is captured by solar panels and converted into
electricity, which is known as solar energy.

2. Wind Energy - The whole point of this phenomenon is to use the power of the wind to launch
and turn large wind turbines that will power up the generator and make electricity.

3. Geothermal Energy - Geothermal energy comes from the heat and steam that are made inside
the ground we walk on. Radioactive parts under the crust of the earth are making the ground
hotter.
