Nowadays, the use of Field Study as a part of

the pre-service teacher's training is very evident.
The experiences being obtained in Field Studies
are used as a fool for understanding the
principles, theories and the learners and as a
basis in the application of the strategies in the
future or in micro teaching sessions.

As part of being future teacher, we are bound to

do the field study in different schools. The aim of
this study is to know on the student's
engagements in different schools , to have first
hand experiences and see clearly the difficulties
that we may face in the near future. In here, we
have experience how teachers communicate to
students, deliver their lessons through different
modalities and experience the actual learning
situation and learning environment.

ANALYZE

How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact the learning
of th3 students going to school ? What are your conclusions ?

The school campus I've been visited is good with lots of facilities and also the
classroom have operating facilities for students learning and development so the
students are motivated and there is no hindrance for them to go at tye school.
Roads are already develop and rooms are complete. The students are well
motivated and studying well inside. Classroom are well-lit and well ventilated
for students to feel comfortable so therefore there is nothing problem to go in
the school.

How does this relate to. Your knowledge of child and adolescent development /
How does this relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning ?

In Child and adolescent development they are the students really like to go at
the school that they feel comfortable and also they are sensitive to the
environment so therefore in facilitating learning I should need the establish a
good and proper classroom management for them to feel comfortable inside. I
believe that the more they are comfortable the more they learn and motivate to
go in the school. Absenteeism of the students will be avoid. Then about the
facilities, the more facilities inside the campus and classroom the more learning
and development. Students are easily learn the lesson when there are facilities
that supports their study. The child and adolescent development need more
concern from teacher because they are dependent to the teacher so the teacher
should going to guide their students in learning and development.

REFLECT

1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed ? Why ?
Why not ?

Yes, I like to teach in the school environment that I observe because the school
facilities are good for the students learning and it was a public school so it
catch my interest to teach in the school I observed. But then if encase the
school is not have proper facility I will not change my decision to teach because
some of the students schooling in public school need more attention to guide
their learning development to grow competitive to other schools.

2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning ?

The school campus that is conductive to learning is the school campus

with complete, good and operating facilities that will help students to get
more information, learning experience and skills development. More
important is that it should be have a good educational staff that have a
good heart that will guide students for their learning experience and can
motivate students interest in learning and skill development. Then also
clean, no pollution, and well organized classroom which can contribute for
faster learning without any hindrance from the environment/campus.

3. What kind of classroom is conducive to learning ?

The kind of classroom is conductive to learning is the classroom that is

clean, organize, well ventilated, free from pollution and with complete
facilities that ensure that there is no hindrance during the learning
process. The students should be feel comfortable during the learning
process so I propose that it should be aircon and with electronic facility if
possible.

4. In the future , how can you accomplish your answer in number 3 ?

In the future I can accomplish my answer in number 3 by means of being

a good and professional teacher that will always think to create a
conducive classroom for learning. I will going to start from removing the
hindrance for learning so I will establish a good classroom management
like cleaning, organizing classroom facilities, and checking ventilation.
And then for the other needs I will going to find financial aid like
donations box, school event, and politicians. I will avoid corruption from
students fund because being a student in public I know that they are
send themselves to learn.

5. Write your additional learnings and insights here .

I learn that school environment has a great impact to the learning of the
students. It can be help students being motivated to study hard because
of good and comfortable school environment. With a conductive learning
environment help faster the students learning adaptation and prevent
accident, pressure. Furthermore it is important to know about the
possible impact of the school environment specially the classroom
environment to the students learning interest.

MY REFLECTION
In this episode, the main topic are all about school facilities found in the
school. Including board display, covered court, school classrooms,
learning resources center and etc. It show the importance of having wide
school campus to have space for the establishment of school facilities and
resources to support and advocate different opportunities in education.
Not all school have sufficient facilities like those in rural schools but still
have learning and development. We can find also those important question
to answer and understand its various importance in learning and
development of the students. The structure of school are being observed in
this episode to know it role.

After I do the task and answer the activities found in this episode I learn
that school should have proper facilities and resources that will support
the needs of students. Physical environment in the school campus need to
be in properly arrange. Clean, organize, operating, and meaningful to
make sure that students may feel comfortable and easy access to the
facilities. I learn it because I observe to the school campus how if affect
students movement. The school have lots of instructional material posted
about the rules to be follow in this new normal school set up. I like how
they use their creative in making board display to inform students with
the new update information and necessary announcement. I learn that as
future educator I need to have skill in making wall display and post to
advocate learning for students achieve. I also found out in this episode
what is conducive classroom and compare to the classroom we observed.
I realized that the classroom should be free from any destructive materials
and bad influence so now I have this ideas I feel that soon I can apply this
to my classroom.

Today I am encourage my self to learn more about facilities and

establishing conducive learning to support students learning development
much Level up. I realized that the environment of the students should be
free from bad influence instead it is encouraging school for higher learning
development. I suggest that school need to have more operating facilities
to help students extended their learning experience. More opportunities
for the students is the most important that education to develop so that
after their schooling they will become new asset in the community.

Here are major priciples of development relevant to this

Episode :

1. Development ia relatively orderly . Development

follows directional patterns such as , from the head

the body then outward ( proximodistal )

2. Development takes place gradually.

3. All domains of development and learning - physical ,

Reflections

1. While you were observing the learners, did you recall your own
experiences when you were their age? What similarities or
differences do you have with the learners you observed?

During my preschool Days I am one of silent type students that is

similar to the other student. I observed that there are few students
that are similar to my learning experience that need a helping hand to
achieve in the school. I know that some students have the knowledge
but they don't have the sufficient conferent to stand and deliver their
thoughts or ideas.

2. Think of a teacher you cannot forget for positive or negative

reasons. How did she/he help you with your needs (physical,
emotional, social, cognitive)? How did it affect you?

The teacher I can't foget is Mrs. Betito who teach me how to read and
write. She is very strict but students arr reinforce to achieve and
learn. I like the process of teaching alphabet and classroom
management every one are learn from our batch so that is the
positive outcome however she has also a bad side where in she is very
strict that some students are feel nervous. Cognitive and physical are
address by her teaching method but emotional and social are less.
Before I forgot discipline are well develop by her effort in teaching.

3. Share your other insights here.

In teaching I understand that teachers should use feelings before

knowledge because as teacher you need to understand every students
feelings if they are comfortable to your teaching behavior or if not apply
adjustment the for them not to feel nervous every time you come in. As a
teacher let us do our best in understanding feelings of students so that
every time we come they are excited and ready to learn.

FS 1 P O R T F O L I O

MY REFLECTION IN THIS EPISODE 2

This episode remind me about my past experience where I meet

different type of teachers and their teaching behavior. I know that
everyone have their own mood and view in teaching that appear and
reflect it to the students performance and attitude inside the school. I
also remember those teacher play important role I developing my
learning ability and motivate me to continue learning. The teacher that
inspire me to take this course. I remember them always because of
their meaningful contribute to my learning development.

I feel both happy and sad in this episode because I remember my

positive and negative experience in my life that affect my entire
development. I understand that environment contribute to the learning
development of the students so I learn that being a future educator I
need to avoid being over strict instead be friendly and caring teacher to
have good relationship with. Students. I need also to develop a
conducive classroom for better outcome and procedures. It is important
that we need to apply student-centered approach to support their
interest and needs. I understand that I need to avoid pressure my
student because it is one of the cause of dropping out. Understanding
is very important for the teacher to know the strengths and weakness of
your students. Dropping out of students is very sad situation that I
observed inside the classroom. I remember my classmates dropping out
because teacher doesn't understand there need. They teach using their
own understanding without knowing the real problem behind the
students situation. It gives me learning that as future educator I need
to know what they need to solve it and encourage students to learn
more instead of dropping out.

I therefore conclude that teachers should be with good moral

character in real life not just in certificate only and with determination
to teach all students and more importantly can give special attention to
does students need wide concern like slow learners, with disabilities
and encouragement because it is expected to have various students
with different weakness.

ANALYZE
1. Identify the persons who play key roles in the relationships and interactions
in the classrooms .What roles do they play ? Is there somebody who appears
to be the leader , a mascot/ joker an attention seeker , little teacher , a
doubter / pessimist .

In the movie entitled "Every One Child Is Special" it show all about students
and teachers interaction in the school. The first person who play important
role is Ishaan Awasthi. He is the main character in the movie that carry
important role to show that some of the students are struggling in learning
and development. He is a attention seeker student that need special
treatment to acknowledge his need and situation. Ishaan have mental
disorder called dyslexia. Dyslexia is the problem in reading and writing
wherein he/she can't recognize letters specially small written letter. His
problem is the cause of all behavior he carry. I understand that the
situation of a person affect all his entire life.
The second one who contribute very important role is the teacher name
Ram Shankar Nikumbh. He is a Sped teacher and school teacher as well.
The role that he take is the teacher that will help Ishaan to solve his
problem and show very good and eye opener in teaching. He special
approach in teaching to address Ishaan needs and attention. He also show
the importance at being kind, patient, friendly, joker, and equal to all
students. Love and care to the students, and effort for students growth in
learning and development for their future. His attitude is really conducive
for learning, no stress, no pressure and no pain. Feeling comfortable to the
teacher help students to overcome fear and pressure. His heart come first
before his mind. It's open my mind that as a future teacher I should use
my big heart for every students. He appear to be a leader and inspiration
for all teachers and future teacher.
The third one who play important role are the strict teachers that show how
it affects students attitude and emotion. I see in the movie and also as well
in my previous experience to encountered strict teachers. I see how Ishaan
feel affect with what they done. Their is no doubt that punishment can help
students to be responsible for their jobs but it can also become a hindrance
from learning but instead presume. Thinking for positive reinforcement is
better and understanding students situation. Give time to know why
he/she behaves like that so that you will know the steps to be done. The
strict teachers affect ishaan's behavior it turned into less fortune to learn
and feel sink because of pressure and loneliness. The factors that affect
Ishaan's behavior are their attitudes and relationship. I realized that
relationship between teacher and student should be bind strong enough to
know limitations.

2. What does the teacher do to address issues like this ?

The main character Ishaan is the one I observed to be different because

of his behavior. He is a loner, hardheaded, naughty but talented. He is
appear to be different because of his behavior wherein he wants to
spend his time looking for views, imagines, and dreams. Some of the
teacher rejected Ishaan and complain about the attitude of Ishaan that
can't learn reading and writing. They can't understand the real reason
why Ishaan's attitude is like that. He didn't listen and give attention to
what is being discussed that makes teacher annying and angry. He
appear to be like that because Ishaan have dyslexia, the problem in
reading and writing. Some try to teach ishaan but they failed to find the
correct approach in teaching student with dyslexia. Until Ram Shankar
Nikumbh come and discover Ishaan problem and need. He is only
teacher that find and understand the cause of Ishaan behavior.
Nikumbh utilize his fast experience to understand and plan how to
address the student issue. He use story telling strategy to be able to get
the attention of Ishaan and also motivation. He use trick like telling
story about famous person that is not real but only for motivation. I see
the effort of the teacher to carry the responsibility as a teacher. He give
additional time to teach ishaan to the approach that is suitable and
comfortable. He integrate art in teaching writing and reading. Creativity
and resourceful is being shown. I also see that he proposed art
competition to address the skills of art special to Ishaan. I realized that
teaching require understanding the necessity of students and flexible to
accept challenges in teaching like their are students need special
attention. Teaching is not all about following the book but following the
students needs and dreams of each students.

3. How does the teacher influence the class interaction considering

the individual differences of the students ?

There are teacher that are creative in teaching that influence the

sense of oneness or unity among the learners and between the
teacher and the learner ?

Being In the classroom is really good as a future educator. I learn

who are the students need more concern and students appear to be a
leader. And also those students appear to be different. I feel happy
being a observer to push through my career as student taking
bachelor of secondary education. The students and the teacher are
with good collaboration inside the classroom that inspire me to
become a teacher, I like what the teacher do in teaching and
classroom management. He started from motivation before introduce
the topic. At that point I observed that the students are quite listen to
the stories and advices from the teacher. They feel relax, excited and
comfortable taking the new lesson. I realize the importance of
motivation inside the classroom in learning ability and courage to
learn. I feel unified to them being observer because those motivation
are also affect my courage and motivate me to give my best in
learning and be committed at any organization I belong. Like today I
am a student taking education so therefore I am committed to finish
this course. Happily meet those students and teacher for me to know
the real classroom situation and experience being part of the
classroom member. I learn what I will going to do if I come to the
point that I handle a real classroom.

ANALYZE

Your findings and recommendations in the Learner Development Profile Will

help you answer the questions here.

l. From your home visit and interview, what do you think is the style of
Parenting experienced by the learner? Explain your answer.

After I conduct the interview by visiting their home I observed first that the
house is clean and with lots of flowering plants that look fresh. They are
nature lover I think because of planted around the house. There house is
small but concrete so i I see that they are not really in a very low class
category of life style. The parents are not really strict to their children
because they give time for them to enjoy their childhood moments. They are
allowed to play outside with their playmates and friends. About to the
schooling of their children they are pressure their children to do something
that they can't do. They are only give positive advices and motivation for
their children. The rules that they imposing are the common rules that i
usually see at any families. I see that they support their children what they
like to be. I am happy to hear it to his mother that she said like this" I know
that everyone have their own capacity" so i I understand that their parents
are a couple of good in understanding children ability and free to choice
what profession nor work they want.

2. Relating your data with what you learned from child development, family
factors do you think contribute to the development and Over-all adjustment
of the learner in school? ·

The child development is due to the factor contribute by environment where in

he/she make her/his experience. Inside the house there are rules, norms and
culture that can influence the child or learner development and adjustment as he
grow. Base from the physical perspective I see that he is physically healthy and
with good social interaction between peers, classmates, and other sorounded
people. I observed that he has a good environment that can contribute for
development and over-all adjustment in learning where in he can do his school
assignment at home and his parents are making sure that they do first their school
task before the other matters. Having a supportive parents also contribute to his
development and confidence to face challenge either in school or personally. Having
a supportive parents is much better in development and learning in school.

3. Does the communication between the home-school have an effect on The

learner? If yes, what are these effects?

The school and home should be collaborate properly in their goal in learning of a
child. The school is the place where the students are studying well and the home
serve as the motivation and readiness to learn. If the home of the child have a good
rules and regulations, family oriented the children are ready to learn without any
hindrance. The support is coming from home members that strength the learner to
strive harder to learn in the school. It has a great impact in learning of a child if he
feel comfortable schooling because being comfortable make our mind work faster
with out struggling to something. For example if a child have a problem in his
house there is the possibility that he can't study well through his problem. So it is
important that his home is with good condition.

4. How can the teacher partner with the community to contribute· to the
development and learning of the students? Who are the people or which
institutions can the teacher tap to seek advice regarding the development and
learning of students?

The teacher and community help each other through providing a resources
that will be use if they need. There are programs in the community which the
teacher and barangay official are helping to make the event possible for the
students learning and development. One of the example is the tutorial for the
non reader students to help them learn how to read an understanding what
he is reading. The barangay council allow those tutor to conduct tutoring in
every non reader students. Is a big help from school to reduce the non reader
in the barangay and also it is a great contribute to he school where they are
schooling. Sometimes teacher are ask for help to monitor students in there
location. Monitoring of students in the barangay help the school to reduce
absence and also 4Ps give to every family to help them financially and let the
children go to the school. Those are the great contribution of community for
the learning development of every students.

REFLECT
1. Reflect on your ow11 development as a child. What type of parenting
did you experience'? How did it affect you?

I experience a lot of challenges in my life that develop my wholesome

personality. During my childhood moments until now I still experience
parenting . As a child I experience punishments from my parents
because of my unnecessary behavior either inside or outside our home.
Through their punishments I understand to what should I do to escape
to it and that is to correct my attitude. Then, I always hear advices and
motivation from my loving parents that help me to feel comfortable in
learning and development. My parents are not really strict in learning,
they only do is give positive thoughts for me to absorb it. That contribute
to my learning and development at the school and my personal lifestyle.

What I experience to them being a parent those are the primary source
for developing my behavior. But I don't forget that all of my experience
are creative my personality. It is important to a child that the
environment of a child is conducive for learning either in school,
community and at home. The support of the parents are very important
to develop his confident. It strength the child courage while doing and
planning what he wants to be in his life.
2. As a future teacher, how would you establish good home-school
collaboration? How can you work well with the parents? How can you help
them? How can they help you?

As a future educator I will going to create first a good communication

between parents an me as teacher. This communication serve as the main
key to establish collaboration between parents and teacher. I always
monitor every students about their condition inside the school, listing the
record of their performance and then I will conduct meeting every month to
show the record of their children. And explain to them what are those things
should be need more concern. If there are problem with their child I will also
try to reach them one by one to state what they do for their child and also
that is one of the best to do, consult to the parents about the problem and
provide advice to the parents if what to do to her child. How to monitor and
what possible reinforcement should be done at home. In that process it help
them know the real situation and possible solution and that advice can help
them and if they done it will as a return it also help me to improve their
learning.

SPARK Your Interest

This learning Episodes provide an opportunity to
examine how classrooms are constructed or designed to allow
everyone’s maximum participation for effective learning. You
should be able to examine how classroom management
practices affect learning. This Episode enhances the application
of the theories learned in the following professional subject
such as Facilitating Learner-Centered Teaching and The Child
and Adolescent Learners and Learning Principles.
TARGET Your Intended Learning Outcomes
At the end of this Episode, I must be able to
 Plan on how to manage time, space, and resources; and
 Provide a learning environment appropriate to the learners
and conducive to learning.
REVISIT the Learning Essentials
The classroom climate that is conducive for learning
is one that is non-threatening yet business-like. It is a
classroom where, when creating audio-visual presentations, the
following are observed:
 Specific classroom rules and procedures are clear.
 Classroom rules and procedures are discussed within the
first few days of the school.
 Students are involved in the design of rules and procedures
 Techniques to acknowledge and reinforce acceptable
behavior are employed.
 Clear limits for unacceptable behavior are established and
negative consequences for such are communicated.
 Classroom processes are democratic.

ANALYZE
Analyze and answer these questions on observed classroom management
practices. It is also good to ask the teacher for additional information, so
you can validate your observation. Write your notes below; and then
organize your data in the table that follows.

1. Are there areas in the classroom for specific purposes (storage of

teaching aids, books, students’ belongings, supplies, etc.)?
describe these areas. Will it make a difference if these areas for
specific purposes are not present?

As I enter the classroom the first one I observed are the boxes at the front
side where look different. At first, I don't know it purpose but when I see it
near I see the modules inside and the teacher told me that they use it to
organize the process of receiving and distribution of modules. Amidst of
this pandemic classroom organization are being charge to adapt the
suitable environment to be put up inside the classroom. I see that the use
of boxes is really effective in receiving the modules because every subject
have allocated boxes where the students put it. I Imagine that if they don't
make it there is struggling in retrieving the modules. There are possibility
that the modules are being scattered, disorganized and disappear. So I
observed the new classroom organization and management.

2.Are there rules and procedures posted in the room? List them
down. Do these rules reinforce positive behavior?

In this current situation, classroom setting are look different. When I enter
to the classroom I want to observe, I see that there is no rules posted but I
observed that the students submit their modules, projects and other task
are discipline well and organize. They are respectfully, quite, and formal, so
I think the classroom management of the teacher is well done and effective.
Maybe they are oriented at the beginning of the school year about the
classroom management and rules they need to follow that's why they are
organizing even there is nothing rules posted. The behavior of the students
are very well with respect, organized, and helpful.

REFLECT

1. Why do you need to reinforce positive discipline?

As a future educator I found out that it is important to discipline every student

to manage their actions and behavior. Reinforce positive discipline help
students and classroom management successful. The primary reason of
reinforce positive discipline is where every learning start from discipline. If
the students are discipline well he/she will always behave and listen to the
class discussion. And then the good interaction between teacher and students
will be stronger. The respect of the students to their teacher will always
present and the activities are smoothly flow towards achievement.
Therefore the classroom with discipline students are much conducive for
learning. The highest learning outcome is possible to achieve because there
are no hindrance for the student to learn. Discipline help himself think the
most important to do, if the child know how to manage himself he/she can
widened it learning and as long as his development. As future educator I
should put concern to discipline my class, I know that it is part of classroom
management and the better the classroom management the better learning
interaction with smooth absorbing learning and development.

ANALYZE
1. How did the classroom organization and routines affect the
learner’s behavior?

In the classroom there are rules and regulations to be followed for

student's behavior reinforcement. The teacher sit this to organize the
classroom setting and procedure for the whole year. As a future
educator I know the importance of good environment in learning
development of the students. It is included to the factors that affect
students behavior development. Definitely, it give a broad
contribution to achieve every objective or goal through positive
discipline and good classroom management.

2. What should the teacher have in mind when she/he designs

the classroom organization and routines? What theories and
principles should you have in mind?
Every action have it's definite purpose so when we are planning
something there are specific purpose. At the beginning of school year
the teacher are planning to what classroom management he/she is
going to impose. Classroom rules are being created with the help and
approval of every member in the classroom such as students and
teacher.
While the teachers made a classroom organization and routines they
also think about the possible effect to the students learning and
behavioral development. For me, I think they are thinking critically to
establish the best classroom management and they are also put in
mind what is right for the good of students and relationship between
teacher and students.
The theory that describe in implying classroom organization and
routines is the behaviorism because it is all about stimulus
preparation. The environment where students feel comfortable is
suitable for learning. The reaction and manner of the students to the
environment is said to be part of behaviorism principle.

REFLECT
Reflect on the following and write your insights.
1. Imagine yourself organizing your classroom in the future. In
what grade year level do you see yourself? What routines and
procedures would you consider for this level. Why?

If I have the chance to be organize classroom in the future, I imagine my

self in grade 7. Since grade 7 are not yet read to work independently I will
going to arrange their seats by pair to monitor and have a good influence
between one another. The routines and procedures I going to impose is all
about discipline and enjoying classroom atmosphere to maintain good
relationship between teacher and students. I consider the expected
behavior of the students and their interest in the field of education.

2. Make a list of the rules you are likely to implement in this level.
Why would you choose these rules?

The rules in my classroom are the following:

1. Come on time
2. Respect every member in the school
3. Keep the classroom neat and clean
4. Show manner at all time
5. Maintain good relationship to everyone
6. Listen and quite if the teacher talking and classmate is
discussing.
7. Raise your hand if you want to answer/give opinion
8. Cellphone is allowed only if it required
9. Don't forget to send off excuse letter if you are going to absent
and should be signed by the parents or guardian.
10.Have fun

I choose those rules because those are the rules that will address
the three main concern in education, to develop knowledge, skill,
and discipline. Most of the rules are about discipline in management
of their behavior/attitude because I believe that, if the students are
will well-organize and discipline the learning process is easily
absorb.
Therefore the learning and development of knowledge and skill iare
being address. Those rule are use to maintain the classroom
organize and conducive for learning.

3. Should learners be involved in making the class rules? Why?

Yes, they are allowed to participate in making rules in the

classroom to make sure that they know, like, and understand. It is
important that they are present during the process to avoid
conflict and struggle about the set rules. They need to be aware
and obey to the rules. Suggestions and their approval is very
important during the process if the teacher is not a authoritarian.
But if the teacher is authoritarian the students concern are no
longer allowed, only the teacher's discussion.

ANALYZE
1. Analyze each given rule. What circumstances led to the
information of the rule?

The formulation of rules shall effectively safeguard the lawful

rights and interests of citizens, legal persons and other
organizations and, while prescribing the obligations they should
perform, provide the corresponding rights they have and the
means by which the realization of such rights are safeguarded

2. Are classroom rules really important?

Classroom Rules Every teachers wants to keep her students safe

and teach them what is and is not an appropriate behaviors in
class. Classroom rules are set to teach student a proper and safe
way to act within the classroom and thus, improving the student
learning.

REFLECT
1. Reflect on the various classroom rules set by the Resource Teacher. Will
you have the same rules? If not, what rules are you going to employ?
Explain your answer.

Every school have there own rules to follow for students learning development
and discipline. We all know that the rules are guidelines for students to know
how they behave properly and what are the important things to be consider in
the school/classroom. Those rules give importance in management and
discipline the students.

After I observe there are things I found that can help me learn classroom rules
establishment as future educator. Those are all about various classroom rules
and it role inside the classroom. It give lots of benefits. I feel happy that there are
already set classroom rules only I need to analyze if what are the missing rules to
ne added to make it complete. I learn that in making classroom rules there are

MY OVERALL REFLECTION IN THIS EPISODE

This episode is all about classroom rules and routines in the classroom. Rules
and routines are different to each other with different roles and effectivity that
contribute to the learning development of students. Rules are the things to be
follow by the students because it is what good for the students and classroom
but routines are the everyday and expected procedure should the students to
put in their mind. They are both important inside the classroom.

After I read and do the activities in this episode I learn that in making rules I
need to thing the possible effect of every rules to be impose. It should be not
really strict to the students for them feel comfortable inside but with organize
action in consider the limitations of rules. It help the students to know how the
behave and what are things not to do inside the school. Rules also encourage
students to learn more because the set rules help to reinforce positive behavior
and self direct in learning.

The routines are also play important role in the classroom to lessen the effort
of teachers to give instructions every meeting. The students are already know
what to do everyday. The expected activities in the classroom are already put
in their mind. I understand that if they already know what to do, they are
prepare to the expected activities. The students are always ready in learning.
For example every day there is pre test and post test the students are always
ready for it and they will always study to prepare. I learn that the routines
should be always observed so that the students will recognize it everyday
because if it is not follow maybe on the other day they are not prepare.

As future educator I need to establish a formal and planned rules and

routines in the classroom to faster the regulation of learning in the classroom. I
learn that it is very important to be set inside to maintain the good regulation
and classroom management is observe.

ANALYZE
1. How does the voice of the teacher affect instruction?

The teacher need to use his voice properly with enough loud that can reach
to the entire class while taught curriculum is at the process. During
discussion it is important that the voice of the teacher is loud and clear to
make sure that students get what you are being taught. The teacher voice
should use to catch the attention of the students rather than shouting to
stop noisy. As a student I experience boring in the school because I can't
hear the voice of my teacher, it is an example of the negative effect of
insufficient volume of voice.

2. How does the punctuality of the teacher affect classroom disciples?

The teacher always give sufficient time in every event or activity that affect
the classroom discipline. The students should not be late in any time
schedule to make sure that they don't missed any part of the lesson. It is
also help students to manage their academic and personal life. The teacher
should explain the importance of punctuality in the students life for the
good discipline.

3. Why do we need to check on the physical aspects of classroom

management?

We need to check on the physical aspects of the classroom management to

ensure that the students feel comfortable to the given setting. Physical
environment in the classroom affect the students learning ability because it
provides good mind during the discussion. The physical classroom
management should be monitor everyday to discipline students and
conducive classroom can be achieve.

REFLECT

Reflect on the aspects of personal and classroom management..

1. What does this statement mean to you as a future teacher? Explain. “No
amount of good instruction will come out without effective classroom
management.”

In terms of education many parents are sending their child going to the school for
them to learn, what are things can be found in school to help students develop
there learning and development. School have operating facilities to be use in
teaching and learning. Classrooms, teachers, and other learning facilities are with
great contribution to the learning growth of the students.

In teaching and learning we should consider first the set up inside the classroom.
As teacher we are going to think what classroom management and routines
should we establish to be the supporting facility for their learning and
development. Environment of the students influence the rate of learning inside the
school. How can you learn from the school that the classroom is not organize, how
can you focus to the lesson if you don't have the proper place. So it is a big deal to
have a conducive classroom to ensure that students are comfortable. If you
already done with the classroom management you should again work for the
instructional materials and procedure to be done inside. Classroom management
and instruction are the most influential matter to address the needs of the
students.

So as a future educator I need start planning how to manage the classroom

organization, routines, and instructions follow by implementation of curriculum to
be the source of information, learning and development of students.

2. What are your plans in ensuring effective classroom management?

As a college student I experience and observed always classroom management.

Lots of strategies imposing by different teacher with different personal view in
classroom management and discipline strategies.

As future educator I have my own view about effective classroom management.

The seating arrangement should be by pair why it is because the students in
secondary level are need more support and motivation for them to encourage
learning. By means of that strategy the students are more motivated and enjoying
learning. It also help to develop good attitude and relationship between each
other. Competition is prohibited to prevent self pity.

I believe that my classroom management is well productive soon when I am

already a teacher. I learn from this episode that it is important to create better
classroom management.

ANALYZE
Analyze the checklist you have accomplished and answer the given
questions:

1. How many strategies were employed by the Resource Teacher?

Did these contribute to better classroom management? Explain
your answer.

There are many strategies were employed by the resources teacher that
contribute to the classroom management because most of the strategies
are about good discipline in learning for better development of the
students. Those are employed to minimize the unnecessary actions of the
students in the classroom so that good classroom management is
observed.

2. What were not used by the Resource Teacher? Were these

important? What should have been used instead? Explain.

Those are use because those are set by the teacher from his personal
learning and view that it is important to the learning development of every
student. All are important in organization and implementation of
curriculum for the good relationship in achieving goals. I believe that all
suggested strategies are all correct.

REFLECT
As a future teacher, reflect on the observation then answer the given
question.

to respond to diverse types of learners are first starting from knowing who
are my students second acknowledge and respect their differences third
give freedom and flexibility. Those are the most important strategies that I
am going employ to maintain good relationship and provide learning to all

This episode remind me that I should need to think about what

classroom management do I impose to create conducive
classroom environment for students learning development. It also
give me ideas on what strategies should I use in the future but we
don't know what is the future new Atmosphere require like today

Which of the seven types curriculum in the school setting is easy to
find? Why

Among the seven types curriculum in the school setting the easy to find is
the taught curriculum where in the written curriculum is being implement
through action that belong to what taught curriculum is. The total
even/activity in the classroom is definitely the taught curriculum so there
is nothing struggle to find it. It is already shown every meeting.

Which is difficult to observe? Why?

The type of curriculum that is difficult to be observe is the hidden

curriculum because it is a set of lesson which are learned but not openly
intended to be taught in the school.

Are these all found in the school setting? How do curricula relate to
one another?

The seven types of curriculum are all found in the school setting which are
connected to each one another. Starting from broad to specific curriculum
that administered school regulation towards the intended learning
outcome. They divided the curriculum to be specific and easily find it's role.
Indeed, curriculum are connected because some of it are the extension

ANALYZE

Write a paragraph based on the data you gathered using these key questions?

1. How does the teacher whom you observed compare to the ideal
characteristics or competencies of global quality teachers?

He facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity so that all students
achieve in the global society. He work with their students to co-create new
learning opportunities. He uses data to support student learning and program
improvements. He said that “learning about and with the world occurs within and
outside of school, and it is the work of a lifetime”.

2. Was the lesson implemented as planned? Describe.

Yes. The lessons are planned before it is used in his class. It also shows the
interaction and relationships of the major curriculum components in the lesson.
Aside from the lesson plans, an activity checklist (or lesson outline) is used. A list
of the activities that he will be taking place during the lesson are prepared by him

3. Can you describe the disposition of the teacher after the lesson was
taught? Happy and eager! Satisfied and contented? Disappointed and
exhausted?

It shows that the teacher is happy and satisfied. Because he knew himself that he
delivered the lesson according to planned and the studetns also actively
participating in the class. He demonstrated the professional attitudes and
conduct that facilitate student learning and convey a positive image of the
education profession.

REFLECT

Based on your observations and tasks in Activity 2 how will you prepare
your lesson plan? Make a short paragraph on the topic.

Regardless of the parts of a lesson plan, each lesson it should build on the prior
lesson and flawlessly flow into the next. Alongside from the major components of
a curriculum, there are some guidelines to follow. Each one has some important
aspects that go into its construction such as the type/level of students, their
prior knowledge which will allows us to continue with the flow, and the teaching
techniques that you we can use in your lesson plan. Afterwards are the
identifying og the learning objectives, planning specific learning activities,
organize the lesson, and assess students’ learning.

ANALYZE
Answer the following questions based on the diagram

1. Are the three components constructively aligned? Explain

Yes, the three components are constructively aligned from setting the
learning outcomes, down to what methods to be accurately use to
achieve the outcomes and what type of assessment to be conducted to
test the level of learning the student has. For example, in TLE. The
Teacher set an outcome for student to be able to cook a French
Omelette. The teaching method she used was to let the student watch
the video. And she assess the student through cooking activity.

2. Will the outcomes be achieved with the teaching methods used?

Why?
Yes, the outcomes was achieved with the teaching methods the teacher
used. Although, it was modular but then the teacher provided an
illustration of the steps in cooking French Omelette and link for the video
for those who can avail to watch. Basically, we think the outcome has
achieved through this teaching method.

3. What component would tell if the outcomes have been achieved?

The Evaluation and Assessment part will tell if the outcomes have been
achieved when the students able to get a passing or above average scores
and perform well the activity set.

REFLECT
What lessons have you learned in developing or writing a lesson plan?

The lessons we have learned in developing or writing a lesson plan is that you
need to align the three components so you could achieve what you want to
achieved. You need to plan a head the knowledge, skills and values you want
to achieve by your students, choose the right method to achieve the desired
outcome and it is a must to provide evaluation and assessment that is
anchored with your learning outcomes to test where your learner's at the time
of learning.

What value will it give to the teacher if the three components are
aligned?

The value of success will be gained by teacher if the three components are
aligned together. Success in delivering the lessons efficiently, and learning to
the students effectively.

MY OVERALL REFLECTION TO THIS EPISODE 8

In education we often hear about curriculum. In this episode the different

curriculum is being thought as the main topic together with it's
components. As a future teacher it important to be familiar with it to easily
find its identification and if we are going to find them it is easier to access.

In this episode 8 I learn about different types of curriculum. There are

seven curriculum written above, those are connected to each one another
as a extension of on broad curriculum going to specific. I learned why it
names are like that and hot it is important to be found in the school. All of
that said curriculum are found in education specifically in the school.
Above all curriculum the most important to be master as future educator is
the written curriculum where in it is often use and do this as an hardcopy
documents to be use as formal plan to be implemented over the time. I
understand that in preparing lesson plan there are guidelines and
qualifications to be follow. The standard lesson plan should have followed
the SMART objective. It should be Specific, measurable, achievable,
realistic and time frame. If my objectives are qualified to that criteria I
assure its quality but then it is not end to that process the three
components are need to be done well. Planning, implementation and
evaluation/assessment should be done well to assume it success.

As future educator I need to master the preparation of written

curriculum to make sure that during class discussion I am not pressure of
what to do. And also if I am prepared during the hours of teaching the
students experience flow smoothly as long as the learning development.
Learning outcome are been achieve.
