4. Professional Master Thesis + In-Company Work Experience – 30 ECTS
OBJECTIVE: Increase your brain agility to anticipate and solve complex business issues in your field of

Each student following this MSc program is required to write an individual dissertation.
The objective is to address a current or recent issue in management from an academic or professional
perspective, thus contributing to the study, analysis, formalization and abstraction of the identified problem
or issue as they are related to their professional field of expertise.
This requires students to develop a wide range of capabilities by drawing knowledge from both the
academic and professional literature, as well as from the various MSc courses.
The dissertation should:
✓ For students doing an internship: be developed around a major management issue related to the
mission of the internship
✓ For students not doing an internship: be based on a convincing literature review

In both cases, students are required to refer to a substantial number of academic articles, as well as
professional articles if and where they are appropriate. In this work, the student is expected to clearly
highlight his/her contribution from a personal and critical analysis standpoint.
The contribution expected from students is essentially geared towards personal and professional
development.

The write-up should reflect:

✓ Motivation – justification of the choice of the research problem or issue
✓ Resourcefulness – ability to initiate and conceptualize a piece of research
✓ Creativity and Common Sense – demonstration of a structured and logical methodology
✓ Cross-functionality – demonstration of a multidimensional approach to problem-solving

Between April and October, the student can do an internship in a company of their choice, in the country of
their choice. This internship is optional and is not a necessary a condition for graduation. However, TBS
encourages its students to complete this internship to supplement their training with a long professional
experience in business (from 4 to 6 months), a guarantee of a better professional integration.

Student Testimonials

Conor Bradley, MSc Aerospace Management 2018-2019

“My initial expectations were that I would gain a broad understanding of the aerospace industry through the
various modules offered. I was pleasantly surprised at how vast the course content was, the standard of teaching
and at the level of knowledge I had acquired by the end of the master.
The size and the diversity of the class was something that greatly appealed to me allowing for group discussions
and ensuring varying opinions and insights from different countries around the world. I greatly appreciated the
opportunity to have lectures from senior people in these industries: ask questions freely to individuals that have
years of experience was extremely beneficial to my learning.
Thanks to the Aerospace Master, I have gained an understanding of the overall Aerospace environment, I feel
that the knowledge that I acquired throughout the masters really stood me in good stead when interviewing for
my internship position at Airbus and proved very useful to me throughout the duration of my internship.
Following on from the courses and internship that I have completed in this sector, I plan to continue to work in
this fascinating and ever-evolving industry in the future.”

Sylvain Deiva, MSc Aerospace Management 2018-2019

“When the MSc were presented to me and having talked to the M2 students, I finally chose Aerospace
Management. The ex-Aerospacer feedback and the curriculum presented to us convinced me. The classes are
varied and deal with the Airline sector (Revenue Management, Partnerships between Airlines ...), aerospace
(Aerodynamics, Aerospace Marketing...), and Space (satellite launches, Space Industry contracts ...). Thanks to
this curriculum, I was able to gain essential theoretical knowledge in these 3 industries.
Something which I found to have the greatest added value, were the press reviews about the news and current
industry trends, and also the Strategic Group Work, a consulting mission for an aerospace company,
I really appreciated the links with professional when we visited companies or talked to the teachers and
practitioners, very useful for networking and knowledge sharing.
Overall, the Aerospace course brought coherence to my professional career, a fundamental and essential
grounding in technical know-how which are just indispensable to anyone who wants to be a manager in the
Aerospace sector and enable me to pursue my project. I’ve decided to continue on this career path by doing a VIE
in the Asia-Pacific region, in the airline or aerospace sectors.”
