A. Content Standard: The learners demonstrate understanding on how to
prepare hors d’oeuvre (canapé )
B. Performance Standard: The learners prepare canapé appetizer with
vegetable, fruit or herbs ingredients.
C. Learning Competency:
▪ Identify components of a canapé;
▪ Demonstrate how to prepare appetizer;
▪ Follow correct procedure in preparing appetizer observing safety
and sanitazion

Appetizer is a small dish of food or


a drink taken before a meal or the
main course of a meal to stimulate
one's appetite.

who can pronounce correctly loud
and clear, I will give him or her the
power to choose for later activity
wherein he or she can choose his
groupmates.
Okay, very good. Let’s give him/her (Students will clap)

C. Presentation
This time, I would like to group
you with 5 members. But before (_________ will choose his/her
everything else, let us allow group members)

groupings. Based from the video groups with 5 members)
you have watched earlier, you
are given 5 minutes to create a
recipe of a canapé but make
sure that you will use vegetable,
fruits or herbs as one of your

E. Abstraction

This time, I would like you to watch


me prepare a canapé.

First, let’s perform mise en place.

Of course, let us take note to observe


cleanliness while working, remove all
the accessories, wash hands, wear
complete working outfit and handle
tools properly.

So, here are the different ingredients


that we can use in preparing canapé.

For the base, we have here:


● Bread
● Biscuit
● Cucumber
● Tomato

For the spread, we have:

● Mayonnaise
● Mustard
● Cheese
● Avocado

For the garnish we have:

● Prawn
● Pineapple
● Mint leaves
● Bacon
● Ham

Now, there is no certain recipe in


making canape’. You just need
creativity in putting up together the
ingredients and make sure that it
compliments each other. Also, take
note that it must have a base,
spread and a garnish.

Okay, for me class, I will use


cucumber as my base, mashed
avocado as my spread and pan-
seared prawn as my garnish with
bacon. Then after I put this all
together, get a toothpick and pin it
nice and clean.

For the next canapé I will make, I


will use bread as my base, I will cut
it into tiny square, put mayonnaise
with mustard and top with
cucumber, basil and ham, then I’ll
pin it again with a toothpick nice
and clean.

It is very important class to


remember that in making canapé, it
must be bite size and can be eaten
in just one bite.

F. Application/Integration

If you notice with the canapé that I


make, I use avocado, basil and
cucumber. I use a vegetable, fruit
and herb. We are surrounded by
greens, they benefits us with
healthy body. We need to embrace
sustainability and do it even in a
simple way like here in our TLE
class, we must practice to plant,
care and use vegetable, fruits,
herbs and other plants. Now, it’s
your time to appreciate greens,
make your own canape’ dishes
using fresh vegetables, fruits and
herbs.

IV. EVALUATION
Video making
With your group earlier, put together the different canapé that you made.
Then plan on how you will promote it as if like you’re a vlogger or an online
seller. Make sure to have an appetizing description with every ingredients
components of your dishes especially the fruits, vegetable and herbs
ingredients. Make a video with your devices. I’ll give you 30 minutes in doing
it. Start now.
V. ASSIGNMENT
Research about relishes and crudites appetizer and be able to watch
video at YouTube to have an idea about it. Make a 2 paragraph summary of
what have you known and create a QR Code of it to access easily.
