I think a fad that is trending now is the air-fryer fad.

Specifically during the latter of the pandemic up till

present, the popularity of the air fryer has only grown, and the amount of social media attention this
thing gets compared to any other kitchen appliances is down right disgusting. So why is it that we are so
obsessed with what is basically just a conventional oven?

The fad in question I do believe is framed in relation to facts, and it influences the perception in a
positive why. The majority of the content surrounding the air fryer are do it at home recipes using the
device, making facts relate to the possibility that someone can actually simply make something at home.
This I believe is also why the air fryer gained massive popularity because anyone can use one and with
such ease, and at the time we were all at home, not going out to eat. Making recipes at home during a
global pandemic was the only thing households could eat, and having easy, and good recipes to use with
an easy way to make said recipe, the air fryer was at the right place, at the right time. This the massive
resonance that the air fryer created with it’s audience. The perceived utility of the easy recipes, mixed
with the time where everyone was cooking at home made for a spectacularly positive, and impactful
cultural reaction. There could however be many instances in the future where taste could be influenced
around the air fryer into a bad light. There could be times soon where many people continue to keep
going out and eating out, people just using the same recipes in a regular oven, or just slowly lose
interest over time in the fryer. That is how the air fryer could die, but for now, it is going strong and will
continue to cook on.
