HOMEROOM PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION

Grade and Section 7-SPA Date: September 20, 2022

Adviser: CELINE C. NICDAO Time: 12:30PM

I. APPROVED MINUTES OF THE ELECTION MEETING

a) HPTA Election:
In accordance with the DepEd order 13 s. 2022, the school shall
conduct an election to choose parents as representatives in the PTA,
which is one of the responsible parties in managing collaborative
engagements among education stakeholders.
In line with this, the adviser, Ms. Celine Nicdao, led a meeting
with 7-SPA parents for the conduct of the election of HRPTA officers.
She first discussed the election procedures, duties and responsibilities
of officers, allowed and prohibited activities of the PTA, and financial
matters. In a few moments, Ms. Nicdao officially opened the
nominations for the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary,
Treasurer, and Secretary. Only one nominee has been nominated for
each position before it was officially closed and has seconded the
motion. Nevertheless, each nominee gathered all the votes from the
group, with a total of 17, and was elected to the position with
consensus.

b) Feedbacking:
The adviser distributed the printed copies of the feedback form
and instructed the parents to give their ratings on the discussed
agendas during the meeting such as schedule of classes, take-home
activities, school rules and regulations, school cleanliness and school
health and safety protocols. Afterwards, parents mentioned that they
were actually satisfied with the in-person classes that started on
August 22, 2022, as their children really enjoyed going back to school.
Additionally, some of them raised some matters that needed to be
improved.

c) Homeroom Need/Issues and Concern

Ms. Nicdao started the agenda with a warm gratitude to the
parents who always lend their efforts to support the 7-SPA class
financially, physically, and emotionally. She mentioned the things
required for the classroom as well as its benefits to their children. She
also gave the parents the chance to address any concerns or issues
that they thought relevant to the discussion. Then one of the parents
raised the problem of students' overusing of gadgets and creating
group chats that could possibly be the start of cyberbullying or/and
any unwanted situation. Other parents suggest that they should be
more strict with their children when it comes to accessing cyberspace
or social media. They also propose a rule that anyone who uses their
mobile phones during classes will be confiscated and will only be
released to their parents.

d) Launching of Most Improved Homeroom and Most Active HPTA:

Ms. Nicdao made the announcement that the school will launch
a contest that will choose the most improved homeroom and most
active HPTA. She urged everyone to provide their support and take
part in the upcoming event as parents.
