Findings:
Left sided pneumothorax is appreciated, with evidence of dense consolidation involving
the bilateral lower lung lobes representing contusions. Left sided minimal hemothorax is
also appreciated. No pleural effusion is seen on either side. No significant mediastinal
shift is noted. The rest of the mediastinal structures appear normal.
On bone window, comminuted fracture of the left scapula is noted with fractures
involving the left 4th to 8th ribs. Adjacent soft tissue injury with subcutaneous
emphysema is seen along the left lateral chest wall. The rest of the visualized bones
appear normal.
The sections through the upper abdomen are normal.
IMPRESSION:
Left Sided Hemopneumothorax with ipsilateral rib fractures and bilateral
pulmonary contusions as described
Left scapular comminuted fracture.
