Ans: A biography is the story of someone’s life written by someone else.

Ans: Nouns tell us the name of something or someone. Nouns usually have a, an or the in front of them.

4. What is a verb?

Ans: A verb tells us what a person or thing does.

1. What is skimming?

Ans: Skimming helps you read quickly to get the overall gist of a text to decide whether it contains the
information you need.

2. What is scanning?

Ans: Scanning is a way of looking for specific information in a text. You do not need to read every word.
You can use headings and titles to help you locate your information.

3. When do you use scanning?

Ans: This is a reading skill you use when you look up words up in a dictionary, or search for telephone
numbers in a directory.

4. What does every sentence begin with?

Ans: Capital Letter.

5. What nouns should begin with a capital letter?

Ans: Proper nouns.

6. When do we use full stop?

Ans: We use a full stop to end any sentence which is not a question or an exclamation.

Ans: Making notes can help you make sense of a text. It can also improve your memory of what you
have read. It helps you write the key learning points in your own words, without copying out a full text.
