CRIMINAL PROCEDURE

The method prescribed by law for the apprehension and prosecution of persons accused of any
criminal offense and for their punishment, in case of conviction.

Criminal Law v Criminal Procedure


Criminal Law is a substantive law while Criminal Procedure is remedial. In the former, it
declares what acts are punishable while in the latter, it provides how the act is to be performed.

Criminal Jurisdiction
It is the authority to hear and try a particular offense and impose the punishment for it.
