Assignment

§ Precautions

 False hopes
A seeker should never utter or feel false hopes like claiming to have
knowledge and proficiencies when in reality they don’t, since this would
draw a barrier between knowledge and the seeker.

 (Merely) “putting pen to paper”

A seeker must not write a book before he has perfected the tools
required, become qualified and develop in the hand of his teachers or
else he has registered a discredit to himself.

 Your stance on the mistake of the one who precedes you

A seeker is to refrain from defaming or degrading a person when he has
caught a mistake, since if he does so, others around him would be
encouraged and start degrading those whom they find mistake in
instead of teaching them.

 Beware of being the father of a span

A seeker must beware of the three spans in knowledge :
 Whoever enters the first span will become arrogant
 Whoever enters the second span will become humble
 Whoever enters the third span will know that he knows nothing.
 Beware of grammatical errors (in Arabic)

A seeker is encouraged to avoid grammatical errors since a lack of

grammatical error is honorable, shows pure literary taste, and an
appreciation of elegant meanings due to sound structures of speech and
writing.
