LENASIA PUBLIC TRANSPORT FACILITY OPEN TO COMMUTERS

The Lenasia Public Transport facility is now open. The Johannesburg Development Agency
(JDA) is the infrastructure development arm of the City of Johannesburg and implemented
the upgrading of the Lenasia Public Transport facility.

The project forms part of the JDA’s turn-key projects identified for upgrades. The intention
upgrades were to accommodate taxis, traders, pedestrians, and commuters in a safe, clean,
and attractive environment that will enhance the overall functionality of the Lenasia CBD.

The project entailed widening Lenasia Drive and Rose Avenue as well as the reconstruction
of Station Close and the taxi loading and holding area, consisting of approximately 8000m2
interlock block paving.

The trees added to the street furniture. The JDA’s objective is to create a strengthened
partnership between the City, community, and business by enhancing public environments
