same, the left eye maybe bigger than the right eye or vice versa….

Self-check

1. Give your insight on the philosophy of guidance.

The philosophy of guidance are the techniques used to help children to develop the
solutions on a certain problem” the Goal is to help the child learn from the mistake, not
punish him for making it (Gartrell,2004) this means that the overall goal is to teach the
children what behaviors are not acceptable and why. If all teachers do is punish them
once they have made a mistake, there is no learning opportunity for correction. My
philosophy on guidance and classroom management includes the ideas that as an
educator I am responsible for providing an environment that allows each learner to
explore their own innate curiosity.
2. Using a diagram explain the structure of guidance.

As an educator we are the ones who is shaping the society and community. The
overall goal of Guidance is to inform and giving a right direction to a child not to
dictate or pressurize them. In order to achieve the Guidance goals Career planning and
exploration begins with assessment and this program will develop individual
competencies in self-knowledge, educational and occupational development. This
program will help the society and the community to acquire knowledge and skills and
experience necessary to identify options, explore alternatives for the betterment of
every individual.

3. Discuss the purpose of guidance.

In order to meet the purpose of guidance, the program services like assessment and
appraisal, counseling, consultation and others should to be implemented. Help the
learners to know themselves better and find effective solutions to their daily
problems. Through this, the students are able to develop problem solving skills and
discover their strengths and weaknesses, which could help them to deal with
particular issues surrounding their lives. In this matter the learners will know how to
cope up with different situations facing them in their life.

4. Choose 5 principle of guidance and explain it on your own words.

1. (i) Study of an individual and evaluation:
For us to give our assessment to the person in need of guidance and counselling we
have to check the background or gather and evaluate the data in order to give a
proper guidance on how to deal with psychological problems.

2. (iii) Responsibility of skilled workers:

it should be better if the person who will be conducting guidance counselling to advice
the persons in need are skilled workers in order to give them the proper way of
dealing situation and to get a successful result of the program

3. (ix) Cooperation among related persons:

The willingness of the of all persons involve to solve the problem is very important.
Because it aims mutually supported agreements, it will also improve relationships,
and continue problem-solving capacity among the parties.

4. (vii) Flexible Program of Guidance:

Flexibility program very important role in guidance counselling so that in case of
necessary changes the program could adapt and adjust to ensure that the program
continues to support quality service.

5. (xvii) Acceptance of the worth of the individual:

Respect individual differences, there are different kinds of learners, some are slow,
some are fast, some are average and lack of acceptance can hold an opportunity so in
order to deal with this issue we need to accept and respect individuality. Because the
acceptance of the worth of the individual gives an equal opportunity to all members
of the society.

5. Explain the quotation. “By education I mean all-around drawing the best in child and
man body, mind and soul.” -M.K. Gandhi

It tells us that all human being must be given all round education for his full
development socially, morally, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.

6. With your learnings in guidance and counselling, how can you apply the following
concepts and principles in your teaching?

Guidance and counselling are very important for our learners, as a teacher we serve as
the street light to guide them on the road that they take going to their right
destinations. Good manners and right conduct can be learned at home but we
teachers sometimes polish their attitude and their personality and transforming them
the best version of themselves. The concept, goals and principles of guidance is to
prepare them for life after school and to teach them to do what is the right things to
