There are two types of photovoltaic systems, one of
which is called On grid
Consists of electrical loads, battery and inverters
If the voltage generated by the photovoltaic cells is
greater than the need of the load, the excess goes to
.the grid
The first meter counts in both directions, the excess
electricity that goes to the grid and the electricity
that supplies the loads
The second meter for network direction only
The inverter converts from a Dc voltage to Ac
voltage to feed the loads. If the electrical supply is
cut off from the network, the inverter is
disconnected and called the system anti-island
To protect the inverter, grid and the system because
the inverter cant work alone with loads , the grid
return the electricity to itself, this is dangerous for
its employees
A diesel generator or micro-turbine can be
connected with loads in case the electrical supply is
disconnected , the inverter will covert voltage from
. generator Ac to Dc to charge battery
To protect the inverters from lightning strikes, we
use surge protection device

If the value of the voltage increases by discharging

an electric thunderbolt in it , its resistance becomes
low and it discharges into the ground, then its
.resistance returns to high
It can be installed inside or outside the inverters
before the inverter and as close to it as possible
can be installed .
