The graphs above give information about computer ownership as a percentage of the population

between 2002 and 2010, and by level of education for the years 2002 and 2010.
The first bar chart shows the proportion of the population who owned computers for a period of 8 years
and the second one gives data on computer ownership of the two years 2002 and 2010 in five education
levels.

Overall, it is true that a steady rise was observed in the percentage of those having computers from
2002 to 2010. It is also evident that the ownership rate grew when people obtained higher qualifications
over the period shown.

In 2004, around 62% of the total population possessed personal computers, a growth of 7% compared
to 2002 (55%). The proportion of computer owners increased gradually over the following six years,
reaching a peak at approximately 70% in 2010.

In 2002, the ownership of computers among individuals without high school diploma was lowest, at
around 15%, and above 40% of those with the same level of education had computers 8 years later. 35%
high school graduates possessed home computers in the year 2002, but this figure almost doubled in
2010. A similar increase was seen in the computer posession rate of college dropouts and college
students over the same period, with this ownership climbing to around 82% in by the end of the given
period. Regarding college graduates and holders of postgraduation qualifcations, their respective
ownership percentages in 2010 were around 90% and 92%, 20% higher than in the other year.
