Background
I am a VCU graduate with a hometown here in Richmond, Va. While completing
my degree, I have taught mindfulness and introductory Buddhism classes at
Richmond’s Open High School, in VCU Classrooms with Professor Jon Waybright,
and, if it wasn’t for the pandemic, would also have taught in the Richmond city jail. I
have just returned from a three-month stay studying and living as a monk in the San
Francisco Zen Center and am now back in my city ready to work for a prolonged
stay.
As an avid writer, poet, and speaker, my background in zen helps me keep a cool
head and compassionate attitude in stressful situations including, especially,
in public speaking.
