UNIT PURPOSE/DESCRIPTION
This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the nature of enterprise
formation and its management for growth. It introduces the role of the entrepreneur, the
entrepreneurial process, innovation and new product development, IP protection, business
development services, and business planning for a startup and scale-up. The course is
supposed to impart skills, competencies and attitudes necessary for founding an enterprise
and running it to its success.

Expected Learning Outcomes of the Course


By the end of the course, the learner should be able to:
i). Describe the entrepreneurial process.
ii). Discuss the concept of innovations and product development
iii). Identify requirements for establishing a successful business venture
iv). Write a competitive business plan
