SUMMARY

IOLINK Channels A/B Failure showing Child IOPs with Ioldrver error

The IOLDRVER error, reported against IoLink Module, is IOLink-Driver-error.

IolDrver errors are reported against an IOP when the C300 senses that during a module's response, the EIA485
differential signals do not come within a minimum voltage range of the rails (-Vcc and +Vcc).

It is intended to detect and report marginal or damaged IOL drivers on IOMs before they deteriorate to a point where
they cause communication problems for the entire link

COMMON CAUSES

1) An IOP (hardware) itself could be faulty.

2) When inserting/removing the IOLink-cables, or removing/inserting the IOM could also caused the IODRVER error as
well as others( TknRecv, lpbckErr, etc).

3)+VE and COM screws for the IOTAs had come loose; This particular scenario could give intermittent channel failures

SOLUTIONS

1.- Replace Faulty Module (If Applicable)

2.- Errors due to insert/remove of cables/IOM can be ignored, but its error-counts must be manually Reset ( via I/O-Link
Command) and Enable-Periodic-Swap. Do not force swap/cable-select the IOLink-cable A/B, let it auto-swap after
Enable-Periodic-Swap. The IOLink auto periodic swap is every 1-minute.

3.- Check if +VE and COM screws for the IOTAs had come loose and make sure that they have been properly tighten

ADDITIONAL NOTES

For solution #2, follow steps below:

- From Station, Call IOLINK Processor Detail Display up

- Check error statistic from “Statistic tab”

- Make sure that Statistic error are not increasing

- Go back to Main tab and from IOLINK Command Field Select “RESET ERRORS”

- Go back to Statistic tab and Confirm that errors count have been set to 0 and no longer increasing

- Go back to Main tab and from IOLINK Command Field Select “ENB_PERSWAP”

- Wait till the Error Alarm is cleared off
